A: "I think we need a new tax on scripts" B: "I think we need a new tax on server usage" C: "I think we need a new tax on sound volume" D: "Hey, what if we taxed them all!" All: "Ooooooooo"

I have to agree with Wednesday on this one too. The economy already has "issues". I think they need to be ironed out before adding new complications.

Why is it that there is a tax on objects in the first place? As I understand it, it's because it uses server resources, and there has to be a limit on how much people can make. So it doesn't kill the server. I can make a box that can kill the server....

Y'know Ope.. after I read your reply to Kurt Godel, I'm going to have to rescind my previous statement in this post. Scripts are COOL -- obviously, if we didn't have them we couldn't do a lot of great things. (Using we purely as a generalization, I have only the most rudimentary scripting knowledge.) If they were taxed, I think.. maybe.. it would help solve some lag issues.
I mean c'mon, how many different color-switching lighted dance floors do we REALLY need in the world?

Al Gore would be upset with this ...and really upset at all the debri laying around and cluttering up the enviroment ...seems to me all the Sore Looserman people should clean up the enviroment there and then sell arms to the people in (insert community here) then all will be just peachy ! ya right LOL (note of sarcasm if you didnt realize that)

My new idea for a solution: overly simplistic (which is a plus in my book) and could help: Charge $10 to put a script on an object. Take the script off the object and get your $10 back. Get charged $1 in taxes for each script on an object. And of course physics causes as much or more problems than lights, and should be charged accordingly. And heres the democrat idea: First: people must be able to see how many primitives they have in the world. Also a better way to track down things is good. Then: Charge higher taxes for people with more than x primitives (I would say some huge number like 5,000 primitives, meaning you have spent $50,000 rezing things in world, besides your land purchases). Tax the Rich!

Thought there was a tax on the flashing lights. Any prim made out of the material "light" has a tax, and a pretty steep one considering. At least I thought so.
And Wednesday I totally agree, jeez you're going to need to open up an HR "Block" (get it...block...prim...blawhawhaw), staffed with people that understand the tax laws. I get confused just reading all this let alone trying to implement it on all my objects everywhere. And how do I file for a refund...what if my scripts provide a positive service, like a public transpo service that can take you safely through the outlands...can I apply for a tax break? And should the outlands be taxed differently for weapons and bullets than say, an area marked "damage" but that is not in the outlands (to encourage gun use only IN the outlands?). And do script taxes apply to the owner, or creator? Seems to me it can just go on and on.

Ooooh, hadn't really considered that, Tcoz.. but yet, taxes on lights are in place, so that would make sense. But color changers?

From: someone Physics-Enabled Scripted Hollow Cut Tori for sale, reasonable prices, volume discounts, dealers welcome. What, Wednesday? Are you trying to get my goat? Do you know how much work and trouble such objects have caused me personally? (BTW, you forgot to mention "jointed" . I think there should be a steep tax on physics-enabled scripted hollow cut tori! Who's with me? And if you replace a torus hollow cut tube you should have to pay a flat fee that is twice your current annual stipend. Some users might think that I'm being harsh. But hey, I'm just trying to make my job easier.

Cool. I guess if you would categorize me, I would be a communist/socialist, but many people tell me that doesn't apply since that would happen ideally in my evil world dictatorship...
