SL on your Resume?

I know a lot of us have spent countless hours working through product development, modeling, texturing, documenting, coding, marketing and supporting SL products. Has anyone actually used their SL development skills on their RL resume? How did you phrase it? Did you provide images / video of your products? Did you provide quantitative data: # of units sold, development costs, profit? How was it received by the prospective employer?

I haven't, but if I was going to bid on a job doing texture work for a similar medium I would definitely use examples of work done in SL in my portfolio or demo reel.

I'd say that if a potential candidate listed "Second Life" on their resume, it would mean absolutely nothing to the interviewer unless they had some experience with SL themselves.

I often have the sucky job of filtering through stacks of resumes to try and fill an open FTE. While my own response would be along the lines of "Wow... they play too" - most of my peers would probably see that entry on a resume as a potential sign of immaturity.

Hrmm. I have actually thought about this. I think I would word it as such:

Freelance content provider for 3D environments

...and then show a portfolio before they had a chance to ask. I would avoid any mention of the word "game"

That's what my husband said. Unfortunately, it's hard to get him to do much in the game since it's rather like what he does in RL at his job!!!

Better yet, if the employer does enjoy the game, you can always have them log in and go looking as stuff;)
