Another n00b question. I've been with SL for quite a while now, I think I may have been in on the first batch when they fist started the beta (not sure), but I'm still learning stuff.

Anyhow - is there a way to change the default avatar view angle? It appears to default to looking down from maybe 25 degrees. How can I change this?

If indeed it is possible to change it, someone answer! I'd like to know how too :)

i don't know of any way to change the angle, but, if you have a mousewheel, you can change the distance. scroll up into mouseview, or back to the maximum distance your camera can be from your av.

March 2002? I didn't know people were in it that long ago, I didn't come on board until last November or so - but even then there weren't many of us around. Come to think of it, there still doens't seem to be a lot of online activitiy. I'm in Lusk a lot, and I'm frequently there by myself. At the most there are a few neighbors. Speaking of neighbors, my neighbor vanished yesterday! Their house is gone and their property is public. Poof, gone!

CTRL-8 = widen view
CTRL-9 = reset view to default
CTRL-0 = narrow view

The view setting does not persist on relog.

Those I know already. I was looking for vertical angle. Sometimes I'd like to be able to look over my shoulder at a higher or lower angle :(

This has probably been asked for before, but could we have a "lock/unlock" button on the camera controls window? This would keep the camera at the current position and rotation relative to one's avatar.

I think I have been asking the wrong question, so let me try this again:

Within Second Life, you nave the Camera Controls dialog that lets you move the camera on x,y,x axis. This is very nice.

Question: Are there keyboard/mouse shortcuts that let me access ALL of the movements that the camera controls gives you?

I agree with Wednesday Grimm, being able to lock an angle would also be very nice.
