a peace sign if you flip your hand around, like making it to yourself... it means 'FUCK YOU!' and you can follow it's history to Agincourt when a bounty was put on the fingers of longbowmen - as they marched through Paris they presented the good king with a salute - showing both their fingers intact.

Bullshit or not? who knows! - thats the way it was told to me as a wee lil Aussie boy by my uncle - as part of our oral tradition (the rest included how to drink beer very quickly and fart out loud)....

Even if it isn't true - like all good yarns - it should be.

It is kind of humorous though.

It was a devil sign long before it was a "hook em horns" sign.

And how ironic that a right-wing christian president is pictured (over and over again) making the sign of the devil.

Also I found a gallery of these images a while ago (maybe the same one), and there were lots of pictures of lots of different politicians all making this same sign. I am pretty sure they had pictures of Clinton and the French President Chirac doing it.

It's harder to explain why someone *not* from Texas, and another from a country where football is not even popular is making the sign.
