Personalized login has been added to the referral program.

http://secondlife.com/community/referral.php

Basically, you can now invite people to enter at a place of your chosing rather than the Orientation island.

This is really awesome. For example, if you wanted to set up a Christian Community, you could do that and greet them when they come in. Once you have enough people in your community.. they could start greeting each other.

Very very cool.

"User-created content takes the idea of leveraging player opinions a step further by allowing them to effectively prototype new ideas and features. Developers can then measure which new concepts most improve the products and incorporate them into the game in future patches."

That's perdy cool.

I do wish there was one difference, though... I wish they would go through Orientation Island first, and then from there to our Home locations. That way they would still have the little tutorial at the beginning.

Yeah, I thought they would have at least gone through OI then entered at your home instead of the WA or the Shelter or whatever.

There's an option at the OI to skip the learning process, there must be a large percentage of folks who chose this option, judging by the complete ignorance of such basics as how to fly or jump or look up and down displayed by many new arrivals.

More important than skipping learning the basics is that skipping the OI now involves skipping the choice of entry points that is presented at the OI departure area.

This option might be seen as working against the efforts of those providing entry point services, such as the Shelter and the Aerodrome.

Orientation kits are available at the hellahubs that contain the orientation stations. We can set up our own little "island." This'll be fun. SL according to Khamon. Gosh, this might just be scary.

*Grins*

Well, I'm glad this is finally implemented... heard about plans for this in the Spring.

Imagine referrals being this process:

1. website: "Hey, look at this cool thing to see in SL! Come check it out for free!"
2. person logs in, if only to supplement the online experience
3. person likes SL, signs up
