Okay so here's the current scenario with trial users. They can pay money, and they will lose that money, and they can purchase stuff with that money that they lose. However, the money does not transfer to where it's supposed to. Instead, it disappears and we have yet to know where it goes.

This STINKS for the themed communities who are now subject to this very strange glitch/feature. Trial users can buy our stuff but we don't make the money off them. This is very wrong.

So Lindens, either fix it, or give an extremely good explanation as to why it works like this.

I think Alek was hit with a variation of this bug earlier today. The Lindens definatly need to explain!

Just idle pondering - how painful would a roll-back in SL be?

As a note Dave your are only partially correct.

Trial users can *not* give money. Their money does not go anywhere. If they try to pay someone or something they get an error message and do not lose any money.

Also check out the Lost 10k thread in the technical issues forum.

yes but then theres something about money events that refunds them from the sellers account. SO They dont lose anything because they cant pay but then they are REFUNDED money they never spent so the seller is SOL.

A fix is being implemented -- more details will be coming shortly.

In the meantime, contact support@secondlife.com with the details of your losses -- where, what, how much -- and we'll check our notes and make sure that you get your money back.

I looked today to see how it works. They show a message that says this is only monopoly money and doesen't do anything. Then what's the point in having money if u can't spend it? kinda a very strange idea.

Well, Jack, if you are kind enough to demonstrate the guns and give them a landmark they will fly on over when they sign on official. I've found that when loaning stuff to newbs to play with, they always pass it back - when they know how to.

well we just had one yesterday :( we were all working on a big project and lost an hours worth of work and money. We got money back, but it was pretty painful. We had to rebuild everything.
