People from time to time mention the use of Second Life as a platform for collaborating on work.
I just thought someone might enjoy taking a look at this example of a multi-user, 3D work collaboration tool.
I am at work with only a shared dialup connection and in a highly visible spot to boot so I can't give it a proper look myself at the moment.

Suggestions were floating about a good while back concerning a "public domain" folder for inventory items, specifically with the idea in mind of having scripts placeable into a public domain folder being able to be accessed and used by everyone, which full text search of the source code.
But just a simple "send file" option so one could send a spreadsheet or word processor file would be fine. One would certainly expect a shared workspace to have file sharing in some form.
Also note the claim for that program to be able to display a wide variety of formats of 3D models, surely it would be nice for builders working on group projects to be able to design in a real CAD program, export it to a non-proprietary format like a dxf file, and drag the dxf file onto an avatar in SL, which would cause the file to be sent to the avatar and the SL 3D model viewer dialog to popup for displaying it?
