In Short
This is an opportunity to invest in and recieve a portion of the profits of my most popular gambling game. If successful, which I think it will be, the project will be expanded to cover other wells and other games. This is not a risk free venture!
In Long
How Many?
I will be selling 40 shares, each worth 1% stock in the Taber Well. A total of 40%.
A portion of the profits??
On a daily basis the profits from the well is calculated and divided up among the share holders. This number is kept in a float (long decimal) until you withdraw so there is no rounding problems. You must come to the machine to withdraw your dividends. Even after withdrawing, the cents are kept in your account until you sell your last share.
How much does it cost?
The price of the Stocks is directly proportional to how many have sold. The first sells for $100, the next for $105, then $110, $115 and so on, always $5 more than the last. The current going price is displayed above the stock machine. The 40th stock costs $295.
For convenience you can pay the machine an amount of money and it will keep buying stock, at the ever inflating price, until your money is used up. It does give change.

Can I get rid of them?
You may sell your stocks at any time for $5 less than the going price. I am not making a profit on that. If you buy a stock for $100 the going price changes to $105. If you immediatly turn around and sell your stock you get your $100 back.
Risk...
Thats right there is risk. It is never more than the cost of your shares, meaning I can't hunt you down for more money. That doesn't mean there isn't risk. There 3 risks, 1 of which is the risk of system failure which I will talk about after this.
The first risk is stock price. If you buy the stock for $200, and it doesn't make as much money as you hoped, and you decide to sell it, then it could be worth less and you could not get your full money back. That is just part of the stock system, but you must be aware of it.
The second risk is with dividends. By purchasing these stocks you are taking a 1% ownership in the game. I do make money on these games. However, I can not gaurantee that. If the well loses money, then you will get a negative dividend. I can not say it has never happened, but it is unusual. And I have definatly made more money than I have lost, by a good margin. It is still a risk.
It is possible to have a negative balance because of this. I hope it doesn't happen, but it could. Whenever you sell stocks your balance is automatically added to the money from selling your stocks. This means if you have a dividend balance of -$10 and you sell 1 stock for $100 you will only get $90. I realize this isn't how the real world works, people with stocks don't lose money, aside from the stock value dropping. However this isn't the real world, and by taking part ownership of my well you are taking 1% of the profits and losses.
Stability
The last risk as with everything is stability. Because of the critical nature of this system I am disclosing all stability measures I am taking.
1. Seperate scripts: The money/accounting script that takes money and gives it is its own script. This is the part of a script that breaks the most often (permission loss) and the accounting script I am using is very robust. The player data (key id, num of stocks and balance) is also stored in its own database script which does very little except store and send the data. The system is the main script. This way if the system needs to be updated or is broken no data will be lost.
2. Backup and restore: Every day after dividends are added an email is sent of all database data (key ids, num of stocks, balance). In the case of database failure, I can back up instantly from a notecard copy of that email. I can also force an email of the contents if I know the system will be comming down. This should minimize dataloss.
End
Thanks for your interest in Omega Games and this unique oppurtunity. I look forward to expanding this to other games, at different price points. If you have any suggestions on how to improve this system, or any questions or comments feel free to post below or contact me in game or PM on these boards.
