I don't think I have a home. I arrived in the basement of a nasa installation and wonder are you supposed to live in a house/apartment. Any info would be appreciated.

you can live where ever you want! one of my houses is an open air elevator, it just goes up and down :-). another is a dock, and another, which i am working on right now, is a smithy. I have seen chemical waste dumps as homes, and even toilet bowls! And then there are those people who doent even have homes! it is totally open!

Personally, I dont think homes are necessary, as we dont have any need for sleep. However, the SL Client requires you set a location as your 'home', so that you can teleport there (free!) when you die or when you are in danger. Try to set your home in a safe zone(No health meter).
