How do you become a Linden?

OK, it's not that I think I can or even want to be (yet), but when the game is released I'm assuming that Lindens will be in high demand.

For those of us not in the USA the times we will be on will be pretty odd hours, so I was thinking if some of us outside the USA could become Lindens it would ease the burden and mean people don't have to play at 5am PST

of course, the next question would be what kind of knowledge would you have to have to become one? Would it be really technical, or just based on how well you participate in the game.

I would also want to know this, as I am quite experianced with solving computer-related (and most SL-related) client-side problems.

I was curious about the same thing... so I was wandering around on the Linden company site and found that.

Yes, that is the link. I know a few people who have signed up to become Liaisons, but, I am not sure if any of them got the job yet. I am seriously considering becoming a Liaison, I usually find myself at the welcome area for hours on end helping newbies anyway. I have actually had Lindens ask me to hold down the fort while they go to check prelude.

The thing is, I am not really in the mood to send in a resume or give my personal info and all of that. Oh well

A would really love to do this too, my grandmother keeps bugging me to get a job and stop "that stupid computer program." Dave Zeeman said that they weren't able to hire outside of California right now though

"At this time, we cannot hire outside of northern California."

That's what sticks in my head. So, being the optimist, I see "At this time" and hope to Gawrd that they'll at least be able to start back up after 1.0

And FYI, they can't hire outside due to a mix of lawyers and taxes.
So... you know... that's a good reason

Hmm...I dont think that is true. Half the Liaisons I know live outside california.

Ya well, word on the grapevine is that they all almost lost their jobs, but the Lindens fought off the lawyers and are letting the current out-of-state Liasons stay, but just not hiring any others.

I'd love to go for this postion because the hours I keep would be radically different from most ppl...
