Hi peeps, I would like to take a moment to publicly apologize for an incident which occured last night that caused quite a stir amongst several residents. The problem was over some items being sold, those involved know who you are . In all other games that i have played online selling items wasnt really such a big issue but i can see where it would be in SL. I have seen some very talented people here and congratulate you all, my hat is off to you and you deserve full credit for all of your works. however ..... I am leaving SL for a little while, not fully because of this issue, but also because my husband is driving me CRAZY always wanting to play. Lol . at release we will be maintaining 2 accounts so we can both play together but until then i am handing the reigns over to him, i think he will fit in great with all of you, he is a great guy. Thanks everyone for your understanding and you support in my second life, i send best wishes to you all

From: someone The problem was over some items being sold, those involved know who you are This is a big problem in SL. Especially when it comes to clothing. Those who make them sometimes spend hours creating and to see someone sell the item as thier own is very disturbing. We have no protection for our creations but have been told that the Lindens are working on it. Untill then we just have to "trust" the buyers to do the right thing and not pass out our items as a freebee. So when items are seen in shops and ppl know who made it but are not getting credit for it, bad things happen, ppl get upset (rightfully so) and the linch mob comes out. Everyone should take a step back and put thierselves in the creators position. For example: You make a great dress that you spent hours on and put it up for sale. Next thing you know you walk into another store and see YOUR dress (that you spent hours on) being sold under another persons name. Hmm thats wrong on so many levels......... how would you feel? We're all supposed to be adults here and so we are expected to act like it. Of course there are a select few who will never get the hint but thats another thread all together! Bottom line: If you didn't make it, dont' claim it for your own. Don't put it in a box to sale, don't pass it out freely and don't put it up for resale (the box may be protected but not the cloting inside since you can keep a copy for yourself). Clothing is a very touchy subject here untill we get some protection for them. Last of all, lets not forget that the owners KNOW whos buying the items by account history. It may take some digging but it's a fact that can be checked out.

Deanah I'm sorry to see ya go.
Billie you make some good points about resale too.
I've had this happen to me a few times; and I sure don't like the way if feels. I've found simply explaining the situation to the re-sellers works, for me anyway. If anyone feels that this is not working for them, let me know and I'll help where I can.
Do you guys see a problem with others displaying your work in their shop but not selling it? Or does that come off as misleading as well?
Thanks, jenn

HI Jennifer I think that displaying could be a bit missleading also and then again not really sure. I have bought some items like some of Candies planters (beautiful work) and used them for decoration in my shop since I am homeless at the moment. Is that what you mean? Or just displaying an item to be shown kinda like a statue or something? I have respect for those who work long and hard on thier creations. Heck even if it only took them 5 minutes to make, they deserve all the credit for thinking of it I've sent ppl to other stores when they've asked me if I had something and I didnt but knew someone who did. I've also seen ppl try to resale items (not just of my own) at a considerable marked up price while the person who's propertly (parcel of land) it was sat and watched and let it go because it was the "original" box and not a copy. I dont think that should apply to clothing as you can have a copy in inventory and still sell the orginal box.

hi fellow residents, this is the new deanah here =P and i also have noticed that when you purchase a no-copy item, it still copies in your inventory. that should be stopped. for example .... i bought 1 pair of demon wings, now i have 3 . where did the other 2 come from ? beats me but they are there. this happens with alot of items i think and it needs to be fixed because here again, it is a window for evildoer's or for those who errantly make a mistake. if an item is marked as no copy, it should be truly no copy, the same goes for no modify as i have noticed you can save the texture of a no copy or no modify item to your inventory. not always, but yes on occasion for some reason it allows you to do so. my fear is that if these issues arent addressed now and corrected soon ... there is going to be bad blood amongst "good" people. and that is a crime in itself. sincerely, deanah feaver
