Is it possible to get a name changed?

I picked a kinda crappy one and now that SL has it's hooks in me ;-), I'd like to have a better name.

If you're still in your trial week, cancel the account and recreate it ?

Dog - the only way to change your name is to make another account. As Jesrad mentioned - if you're still within your trial period, this should cost you nothing - and should be relatively painless.

And even if you are past your trial period - its only $10 :)

But take it from me, there's absolutely nothing wrong with your name :D

I like DogSpot Boxer too—we need more fun names!—you know what, it's like one of those monikers that gets attached to you as a kid, and you hate it at the time, but then you grow older and become a gang hitman, and then it earns you respect. Or something, without the violence!

Makes me wonder how many people have unknowingly developed their SL persona around their avatar name?

EDIT TO ADD: Oh, and yeah, I like your name too DogSpot! :) Knowing me I'll end up knicknaming you Spot. hehe :o

Kinda of a funny name for a girl, though.

Creating a new account really isn't an option as I have a bunch of non-transferable stuff.

This is your world, your imagination... lowmind offline mentality shouldn't apply here, at least not more than it "needs" to. ;) What I recommend is that if you are really set on changing your name, start a new account and do it ASAP and work on reacquiring copies of the notrans stuff. Otherwise, the longer you stay with this name... THE MORE YOU MAY COME TO LIKE IT! ^_^

And you'll find many girls here with funny names... you're not alone!

Your name is already growing on me, it's got charm.

Better to be funny than tragic, eh?

Last time they tried to change someones name they turned into Torley. :O

Wish we could change our names, but honestly it just hasn't worked in the past. Capitilization is the only thing that seems to be able to be changed without much problems, but even then there's a little... wonkyness I've heard.

On the bright side you could have picked a worse name! Like l33tkill3r60092 or some such! :)

I agree with the others, nothing wrong with your current name. :)

Edit: Still a great name, male or female :)
