I recently did a little spring cleaning on my inventory and in addition to removing a bunch of objects I wasn't using, I also removed a bunch of calling cards from people I really had never talked to outside of initially having them trade cards with me. And in doing that, like an ass, I removed a handful of cards from people who I see in game quite regularly (but perhaps don't personally IM all that often, etc, etc, etc.). Anyways.... I didn't really know that it would show a big fat "CANCELLED" message over my name on you guys' lists, and I didn't really think through the other stuff calling cards are good for like tracking people down and seeing if they're online, etc. I hope nobody got the wrong impression. It's not like I'm saying "you suck, I never want to talk to you" haha, and I really don't want anyone to think that. I'm just pretty anally retentive and I'm constantly cleaning stuff up, so when my inventory got a little crazy I felt compelled to take out and stuff I wasn't using frequently. Blah di blah di blah. Bottom line... sorry to anyone who thought I was shunning them or something, cause I wasn't. My inventory was just insanely busy and I was attempting to clean it up without really thinking through the effects of deleting a bunch of people's calling cards. *feels like an ass* D'oh.

I did the same thing Dee.. and I hope no one takes offense.
I've slowly been recovering my calling cards, but it can definitely get a bit crazy, so I bet no one will fault you anyway. <grins>

What was that? I'm sorry I can't hear you bc you cancelled my calling card. lol
JK. It's cool Dave. I like to keep my inventory clean also but I never delete any calling cards. Never know when I may need to IM that person in the near future.
Next time I see you let's trade cards again.

I guess I just figured that the calling cards would work similarly to every other instant messenger I've used (I know it's more than that). If a person has my card, but I don't have theirs, they should still be able to IM me, and I should be able to reply once they've initiated that IM. (Maybe it still does work like that despite the "Cancelled" message?). Kinda like when a Linden makes an announcement in-game and says "IM me for a landmark", and you can do just that without necessarily having their card already. Ramble, ramble, ramble, hehe. Silly how much stress and confusion a simple little act of tidying up your inventory can cause, ain't it?
