Wtf are these and how/why are they sending me messages when I am offline?

It's the MetaAdverse advertising network, which was down yesterday due to a server error. Rathe is on holiday. He fixed it, and sent an announcement via the ad boards apologising for the inconvenience and notifying you of a credit to your account. Which was incredibly gracious of him.

I assume you either use MetaAdverse for a campaign or you own the display boards.

Actually I dont use either, I registered when it first came out and never done anything else with it.. totally forgot about it... suppose I should return his $100.

Didnt you have to make an ad, to sign up? I did, and in that case, your ad is being shown somewhere, I forgot about mine too, to walk into somewhere and find my ad on a huge feck off billboard

You don't need an ad to get the message. Just signing up was enough.
(BTW I never got that $L100

and what the hell is up with the Slingo message?

You probably did get your $100 if you sign into your metaadverse account on the website and check. Metaadverse doesn't pay your AV directly unless you set that up ahead of time.

By default, you have to visit the webpage and "withdrawl" your balance to your av.

Im with Sensual, I signed up months ago, couldnt quite figure out what it was, then never revisited. I got the same message, not sure I actually got the $100.

To check and see if you got your $100....

Go to: http://www.metaadverse.com

Login with the ID and Password you used when you first setup. If you don't remember it, I'm pretty sure there's a 'forgot password' link.

Once you're in:

-Click the 'Home' link to view your balance

To withdrawl your balance to your SL Account:

-Click the 'Banking' Link at the top

-Click 'Withdrawl Funds' on the left


Rathe is on vacation until tommorow - we probably won't see any 'official' replies until then. Hope this helps in the mean time!

The L$100 wasn't delivered to your SL account it was delivered to your MetaAdverse account, you rawk Rathe!

The first looks like some kind of.. SL-ingo board owned by you in world? And things can IM you either by IMing the owner of whatever the object with the script in is, or using your key I believe..
