Im pretty sure no one thinks these should be necesary, or if so, then they should be entirely the responsibility of the Lindens, but this is NOT post release, it's a beta, and the Lindens certainly have their hands full (atleast hopefully so, lol) At any rate, it just appears to me like there's just far too much personal involvement but not enough willingness to hammer it out (far reaching goals, if you will). Take the WWIIOL folk and that whole "war" (too bad i missed it, hehe). Maybe we as the SL community should draft up some basic guidelines or something, and submit them to the Linden's for approval to become an almost seprate set of community standards? Maybe that's a bit too much control, but at the very least a psuedo public court? Just have each group say point by point what the problem is, then a response, and then a third "round" so that both groups (or individuals) have the opportunity to propose some middle ground as a solution? Again, this could be an ultimate excersize in futility, but it could also work in that it might show the problems that arise w/ a growing community, and how they can be worked out.
