I made a digital display. Anyone interested in one let me know what channel you want it listening on and how many digits.

Attached is a pic of my 2 digit counter.

I will also be working on a Marque but it will cost more $$. :)

I have an LED display that functions both as a clock and a scrolling display. I'll post a picture tonight in case anybody is interested. The only problem is it costs about $700 to rez it.

Ouch!

You two have just inspired me to attempt an LCD display that will cost $10 to rez.

And I think I know how to do it...

I'd LOVE to see one shebang! Not sure if anyone remembers, but, I had this crazy idea for a Personal Computer a while back. Finally gave up for two reasons. 1, The Lindens said it was impossible, and 2, the monitor would have cost thousands of dollars!

Yes, Yes, I know, you can make a display using textures and it costs almost nothing. But what fun is that when you can make an LED display that uses a 5x15 aray of individual LED objects (plastic spheres) and uses llMessageLinked to communicate the states of all those lights using an integer as a bit aray?!
Anybody could write one of those silly textured displays.

ok, sorry 'bout that, here's the picture....

This is the clock, it is similar to the scrolling display.
It runs military time, either the true time of day, or the SL time of day.

I would be very interested in your methodology for that #!.

The only way I can think of is if there is a way to have multiple textures on a side, or some way to join textures.

Anything else I can think of, besides generating textures in game on the fly, is not very expandable and wouldn't work well with large numbers/strings.

Upload one image 64 pixels high by 640 pixels long. This image has the numbers 0 - 9 each 64 x 64. Texture offset = ( number wanted + 1 ) * 64. So each number would cost 10 bucks.

- sorry needed coffee

-cough-
exactly what I did Xavier.

Which is why mine costs $10 per digit. #! however seems to have a way in mind to create an entire display that rezes for $10.
