This thead is for discussion of simulations of the proposed lunar exploration scheduled by NASA to put men on the moon by as early as 2018.

Such a project would involve skilled builders, scripters, animators, etc.

I might be interested in doing some building & texturing for this. Sounds like a fun project.

I'm currently working on plans to build an SL Lunar navigation simulator to mimic one that I wrote for a paper that was accepted to iSAIRAS, using a control system I built for a rover used in a field test for a NASA proposal. Gimme a ring in world if you want details, I'll be happy to help out in any way I can (usually 'cause I get sidetracked on big projects and they end up never happening :) )

I like these kinds of projects :D though I'm not sure I have the time to participate.

Spaceflight Museum in planning stage
09-22-2005 13:46
This thread poses an excellent opportunity to announce the creation of a planning group for a Second Life Spaceflight Museum. After a chance encounter at the Space Station build in Burning Life, Shaun Altman and Kat Lemieux have created a group (Spaceflight Museum Planning Group) to work on making Shaun's idea for such a museum a reality. One of the exciting aspects of this collaboration is that Shaun plans to make an entire sim available for the museum.

We are presently building exhibits and thinking of ways to construct the museum, and working out how information will be presented to visitors.

Anyone who is interested in participating in this project is invited to IM Kat Lemieux. At present, we need builders, scripters and presentation experts, especially those with some background in informal media-based education.
