Well... the min. specs are :
Minimum Requirements: PC with a broadband connection Pentium III 800MHZ or higher 256MB RAM Windows 2000/XP Nvidia GeForce 2, GeForce 3 or GeForce 4series GPU, 32MB RAM or ATi Radeon 8000 or above, 32MB RAM DSL, cable modem, or LAN connection to the Internet (256Kbps downstream or higher)
So i assume that any of the above graphic cards would work with Windows ME. I was using Windows 98(which i know is different), and i was using a Nvidia graphic card, and i could get into SL.

Im so sorry im bugging you with this still. I just switchd to my Windows 98 computer. Now when I click the Second Life Beta shortcut a popup says "Unable to run full screen at 1024x768. Running in window." I click OK then another popup says, "Second Life requires True Color 32-bit(by the way i have 24-bit)to run in a window. Alternatly, if you choose to run fullscreen, Second Life will adjust each time it runs."

I replied to your other post, but again this sounds like a graphics card issue. What card do you have. I would also reccommend if you can afford it to get rid of ME and get something newer, Like XP. ME is already a Horrible piece of software and should have never existed. But thats not nessicarily whats wrong.
So again what graphics card do you have in your computer?
---------------------------------[ You can find this out by going into the control panel
Then click on the system icon
Then under the General Tab there should be a button for the device manager
Then under the device manger look for the catagory called Video Adapters
You card should be listed in this menu ----------------------------------

Give it a try at 800x600 screen resolution. Though your graphics card is not the best it seems as though it should work.
Did you give tech support a call yet?

WOOHOOO! good news i got it running at last. but theres only one last problem. It says i need to run it in True Color 32-bit. When I change it to this the colors are so extemely bad and I cant see a thing. I downloaded a graphics card and it works. And when I try to change it back to 256 color it freezes up. A popup says that if I choose to have the game run fullscreen that I can choose whatever coloring I want. How do I get the game to run fullscreen and not window?

Humm... This is odd. Because 32bit color should look a million times better than 256colors. Does it look odd because it is better?
Also to get the game to run full-screen. While in the game. The menu at the top click edit, then preferances it should be on the first screen you see if not try the display tab that is in the same window. The Full screen option is a check box and choose to run in 800x600 if that works and you can see full screen try changing the resolution to 1024x768.
