Though there's a recent post regarding Gaming Open Market being offline for an upgrade (and oddly no message in my inbox from GOM announcing that there was a pending upgrade), the site appears to be back online HOWEVER it is now impossible to withdraw US$ to PayPal as the confirmation button for withdrawls is now b0rked and results in the following error message:
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /www/gom/lib/Account.class.php on line 453
Let's see... GOM's back online, managed to sell L$, payed the appropriate commissions, and can't make a withdrawl? That's more of a downgrade than an upgrade.
Like I said, this is just an FYI for other interested players so that they don't make the same mistake I did. If I had known I wasn't going to be able to make a withdrawl I would've used a competing service.
It's now 15:56 gametime... I'll follow up with a post when I'm finally able to withdraw my money and how long it took for this problem to be resolved which will allow others to consider whether or not this is a suitable delay and, if not, at least they'll be able to plan accordingly.

It'll get fixed.
Your dealing with probably the two most respected individuals in SecondLife. I wouldn't be too concerned.

We are still in the middle of the upgrade. Most functions are working, however cash withdrawal requests are still not online. Watch the other thread for more news and (when we're back up) a summary of the changes we've brought online.

They're updating the codebase. Why would you expect full-functionality while such an upgrade was being undergone? Why would you disregard a message informing you that the service is down, and attempt to make a transaction anyways?
Planned upgrades are a fact of life.

From: Cristiano Midnight Just out of curiousity, why is the site not closed then? To confuse people? I don't know, but I am really unsure of what to think... a little warning to the users might have been nice. Guess like always, we will have to see how the market handles itself.

From: Cristiano Midnight Just out of curiousity, why is the site not closed then? That's a fair question. I personally prefer rolling upgrades in which individual services are restored as the relevant portion of the upgrade is completed. Why prevent people from accessing critical services just because a small subsection of the service is down? It'd be one thing if there were actual errors being experienced. If transactions were just disappearing down the memory hole, then people might have reason to be indignant. However, the system isn't malfunctioning. It's just not yet up to full functionality.

I understand your point, I would just say that a critical service is down. Withdrawing funds is critical functionality to some users, and is resulting in an error message: Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /www/gom/lib/Account.class.php on line 453 Believe me, as a web application developer myself, I empathize, but in this case, it probably would have been better to close the site temporarily until all functionality was back up.

As of 18:29 gametime Gaming Open Market will allow a person to _confirm_ a withdrawl of US$ to PayPal. Thank you for rectifying the problem so quickly, however, speaking as a customer, in the future it would help to know in advance that a _scheduled_ upgrade is being performed (I was at the site only a few hours before the upgrade and don't remember seeing a "watch out for the upgrade at X time" message) and also that the site simply be offline until the upgrade can be checked thoroughly as real dollars and real cents are involved. In the grand scheme of things, this is my second transaction problem in a span of 9-months which is a high incidence rate for one account.
