Howdy Ya'll!

Just a note to annouce that Slate Neighbhorhood Association has had a slight leadership change. I've still got a little house in Slate but my attentions are elsewhere at the moment, so I decided to hand over leadership of the neighborhood group to Bob Bunderfield. If you are interested in joining the group or have questions, he's now the guy to speak to. I will maintain "leader emeritis" status and Bob will do all the work ;). Thanks & have a lovely day.

Thank you Zana!

I appreciate the trust you have put in me to run such a fine organization, I only hope I can live up to the awesome example you have set.

With that said, if you are currently a part of the Slate Neighborhood Association, I would like to have a meeting of all the members to discuss what, if anything, we want to achieve as a group.

Also, if you are not in the Slate Neighborhood Association, and you have a home or structure in Slate, please contact me and we will correct that oversight immediately.

I look forward to hearing from all of our neighbors, and look forward to working on community projects to make the Slate area one of the finest places to live.

Thanks!

Bob---Congratulations on your elevation. Would love to have a meeting of all the Slate neighbors.....There are some folks I have not met or have not spent much time getting to know. So this would be a good opportunity for everyone to meet and get to know each other a little better and talk about our little corner of the world.

I'm one of your new neighbors -- I own land up in the northwest corner, bordering Olive (I'm a glutton for punishment) -- up above Bob's place and Athos' train line.

I'm building with a friend, Ktaadn Terra... we're trying to stay in line with Slate's reputation for trees and natural settings, but we really haven't figured out what where we're going with our areas yet.

Bob signed me up to the Slate group yesterday, and gave me a boatload of free textures to boot. Thanks again Bob!

I'm hoping to get Coyote and Bob to coordinate the landscaping around and under the railway line. Just don't intrude on the "loading gauge", to use a technical railroading term ... but people with adjacent land may feel free to build on the "dirt" below the viaduct.

I'm much liking the more-forested look that Slate is taking up lately.

Heya Athos... I talked with Bob & he was willing to let me run my stream down to the inlet, so it'd pass under the tressel and down through Bob's yard.

I was also thinking about making it into a natural water slide for avs... that'd be pretty fun.

Coyote and Athos---hey guys....I would love to see the waterfall get to the river...and as a ride..well that would be so cool. I am willing to move anything in the way (including my cabin) to help support this project.. ---A beautiful waterfall and lots of trees with mass transit to boot will help make Slate "the" place to live.

Regarding the Slate waterfall/stream...

Basically all it is at this point are a number of water-texture cylinders (PHANTOM) sunk down into the ground. I decided to use the land tool to dig out a ditch to make the streambed, to save on prims...

That being said, I'm unsure what the best way is for me to extend it over Athos/Bob/Kenichi's land. All I can think of is that each of you would need to dig out a ditch while I make sure everything's coordinated and lined up...

Any better ideas?

Sorry I have been away for a week. I came down with one of the worst cases of the Flu I've had in 12 years.

I'm getting back into shape though, and will coordinate our efforts to get the stream going down to the bay!

Ah, the flu. Is THAT what they are calling it now? In my day we just called it a hangover. ;) ;)
