Is it fair that the owner, host and dj of a place (the same person) participate in his own contest? I don't think so.
Is it fair for a new guest to be 3 hours (yes, 3 hours) on an event/contest so at the end the owner win? I don't think so.
It is both unfair and illogical. And the sad part is that the club is a great one, the event was great, and the people were great too... but it all gave me a bad taste at the end.
So hosts... if you want ppl to stay in an event more than an hour, make it worth it.
Thank you.

The rules are totally up to the event host and/or land owner. I totally agree it's totally unethical in my mind for any staff to be involved in any competitions, but it happens.

I think it is fair only because a person can run their club or businesses (and the events held within them) however they want. That said though, the situation you describe is not the best marketing strategy for repeat customers. I'm sure many, not just yourself, would decide to go to a different event the next time.

Exactly what I did, I just leaved the group, and will never be on that club again. But it is sad, cause it was a very nice club, that's why I;m not posting the name of the club or the owner. I just posted this to let now future Hosts how guests feel about this.

I'm surprised more hosts/owners don't *get* this. It's bad enough when staff win something legitimately. But even then, guests will be wondering if it's a setup

I don't know why they don't get it. I don't go back to places like that, either. coco

You should lure that person to this thread by sending them a URL so we can watch you two have it out in the forums. That would be enjoyable. ~Ulrika~
