Do you run a store in Second Life?

We're throwing together some self-guided tours for new residents using landmarks and notecards. I'm writing one featuring different shops for new residents to visit. If you've got a store list its name, location and a few words about what you sell. I'll feature several of them on the tour list.

i don't have a store myself, but i frequent those two, and have merchandise for sale @ the Supply Tent, and soon will have a few weapons for sale at X-Caliber.

Ah yes the Suppy Tent. Thanks for the mention, it is on Clyde on the Outlands wall (or whats left of it). I also have MJ's Clothing Company on Minna at the Ritch border. I havent made a sign or put up all my textures yet but the basement of MJ's is going to house textures for sale. I may call it the "Texture Cellar" since it has its own seperate entry. There are free items down there as well.

while it's not a store, I run the Blue Mosque in Jessie in the OutLands (self proclaimed OneArmistan), just look for the tall minaret at the corner of the island and listen for the call to prayer.

More items are for sale everyday! I sell Islamic art and Ottoman rugs, as well as SL's ONLY source for working PaK36 37mm Anti-Tank Guns (OneArmistan's only arms export as of today).

in venice, bonfiaco I run a bakery/candy store. The second floor will be an art gallary probably do that next week.

I've gone the route of not opening a store per se (though I do have a little "what is this I don't know let me try to sell it" shop in the raver city called "Gizmo".

What I do is custom work (call it boutique ;p). If you want anything, a gun, a shield, furniture, whatever, I'll build it for you to spec, wire it to the buyer (not to the owner, behavior will only work for the buyer even if you give it away), and will not sell it again.

This means you get a one-of-a-kind piece that is not for sale anywhere. If you're curious to see my work before ordering, let me know and I'll take you for a tour.

Because the item is unique and I guarantee I will not sell it anywhere else unless the owner of the original says it's ok, the work is expensive. I generally charge double what it cost to build, + scripting. Although I do have them for my own offense/defense, I'm not really interested in supporting the arms race. This is not to say I won't build you a special gun or defensive object if the project is interesting.

I usually finish the work quickly, but will say if I need more time based on events/teaching/other orders.

Items for sale:

- Various pieces of digital and traditional artwork for sale, including photo collage work, abstract pieces, graffiti art. All make really great center pieces for your living room, hanging above your fireplace, etc.

- A collection of finely crafted modern/contemporary furniture based on the work of the Eames brothers, includes sofas, loveseats and single chairs, in a selection of minimal and retro print designs. I also have a small collection of modern/contemporary coffee tables, side tables, and a selection of rugs with different prints, as well as plush shag rugs for all you lounge lizards out there.

- A nice animated lava lamp with a multi level bubble effect.

- A nice Apple Powerbook G4 laptop which is realistically textured and can be turned on and off.

- An 80's style boom box which plays a selection of chilled downtempo beats (I sincerely apologise if anyone finds this item to be annoying. I did my best to pick mellow music and I kept the volume at 0.5 so it shouldn't be too intrusive.).

- Novelty Domokun items including a life size Domokun doll which roars when you click it (you have to hear the sound, hehe). I also have a TV which plays a funny animation of Domokun dancing.

- Cosmetic gadgets (i.e. they're not functional, just for show) such as an iPod, original Gameboy, Gameboy colour, some blank CDs, etc.

- A selection of finely crafted sunglasses. They are very slim and clean, unlike the usual bulky ones you see in-world. I will also custom modify or create you a unique pair if you have some specific colours, textures, or shapes in mind for the shades.

- More stuff added fairly regularly

Zan and I will have our shop up and running very soon. Our hopes are for sometime this weekend, Sunday probably.

Furniture, unique looks, high quality and usable.

Clothing, men and women's, everyday and formal wear I'm adding to that as rapidly as I can, to give unique quaility made outfits.

Costumes - premade but I do accept orders.

Tattoos - will be done by appointments as they have to be custom made but samples will be shown.
