Hello everyone...
Since arriving officially in SL last week, I have met several Italians and a fella from France. I know that many people speak English fluently as a 2nd language, but even the best might struggle with details in SL.
My question:
Are there any links available to connect people from the same country, so that when they arrive in game, perhaps a data sheet with registered names might be shared, and then they would have at least one person who understood their native language when asking questions about SL?
(Wonders if that question was asked confusingly.)
If there is not something like that available, I'd like to work on a way to make it available. I'd also like to host other than English speaking gatherings to spread this information.
Please advise.
An example to further explain. I meet Max and he's from Italy. Later in the week, I meet Andrew. He is also from Italy. I teleport Max to the spot where Andrew is, and introduce them. Now they have someone else in game who speaks their language. It is a way to build and encourage everyone to feel at home in their first few weeks at least.

~nudges~ Does no response to this mean no interest or no one knows the answer to the questions? ~chuckles~

Regions which are spelt in the native language with native char sets would be a good idea.
Unfortunately, until at least the client (the website too, one day) has been localized for various languages, I suspect movements in this direction will be challenging.

Start a group. Call it "Italians in SL" (but actually translated into Italian.) When someone searches for "Italiano" your group comes up and they can read in the charter what the group is for.
