My partner and I own land side by side. We were wanting to join our land somehow and use it together as one plot. Is there a way we can do this? thanks

Only if you create a group and each give your land to the group. Then you can join it.

Yes but make sure you are both officers and trust one another 100% because any group officer can sell the group land without the other ones consent or knowledge.

on a related question, suppose I deeded my 512 holding to a group, then at some later date I decided the leaders of that group sucked much ass and didn't deserve my support of my oh so mighty 512m2, is it possible for me to undeed land or holdings from a group?

No there is no "undeed" feature.

You'll have to come on at the dead of night when they aren't online and sell that land you have access to as an officer back to yourself at $0. Then be sure you have the tier on yourself to cover it when you buy it, you'll be prompted to tier up. You can temporarily pull the tier off that group to put on yourself to buy it, then make sure the group is left with the right amount of tier to cover what remains.

But keep in mind they can do this too you, too.

Here is the support wiki on the in's and outs of the matter

Support Wiki on Group Land

I've not played around with the group land settings, but wasnt the other option allow contribution with deed supposed to keep the ownership to you but allowing the group to have control of options etc. Therefore you could take it away at anytime.

The contribution thing is about giving your tier allocation along with the land. Once you deed it to the group it's no longer your's, it belongs to the group.

As an officer you can take it back as earlier posted, set it to $0L and buy it, taking back your tier contribution back so you don't have to tier up.

Once the group owns both plots of land side by side, edit the land and drag an edit area accross the borderline between the two and hit the "join" button to create one big land. To subdivide it again highlight one of the lots and hit subdivide.

There is another option that is far more drastic. Simply sell all of your land for $0 to the other person and them give them edit rights to your objects. This is the method my partner and I use but we have been married for quite awhile now and I trust her with my life.
