So.. I thought I would take my 2000th post (which I would have reached ages ago if not for the wipes.. hehe).. to share things I have learned while in SL for a year and a half. This is by no means a complete list, but some things that stand out. Would love to see others post things they have learned. I have learned... .. The rule of "what goes up must come down" is destroyed in SL.. .. A person that is over 7 feet tall can still fit through a 5 foot door simply by sitting on a nearby object inside... .. Posing naked for a "pr0n" magazine does not give you as much fame as selling "pr0n" in your shop.. .. SL residents as a whole are more accepting of different types of people than the Real World is... .. While SL is full of some serious talent, we cannot all do as well as each other when it comes to specifics.. This is good though, as diversity keeps the world from being boring.. .. New people joining daily to the SL world is an amazing thing that brings new ideas and talents.. and that should always be embraced.. .. The ability to have live talking DJs in-world was one of the BEST ever additions to SL.. .. There really are more *good* people in the world than *bad*.. no matter how it seems sometimes.. .. People who scarcely know you, will come out of the woodwork to help you and lend a kind word when times are rough.. .. Drama, in-world and in the forums makes SL all the more real.. .. The forums are the "Town-Pub" of SL... and all that happens in the forums is just as much a part of SL as the "in-world" is... .. It is possible to consider people *true* friends in the SL world.. At times it even seems "friends" in SL do more for a person than RL "friends" do.. .. Breaks from SL just as RL can do a body good.. .. SL is addictive and keeps you coming back.. but in a good way.. .. You can be the exact opposite in beliefs of a person with regard to religion, politics, and other issues, yet still have a blast hanging out and even create wonderful things together.. .. Never get smashing drunk and try to write and read a poem within 10 mins.. especially at a dear friend's party (be it wedding, birthday, anninversary, etc.) .. There is a "game" company out there that not only cares about what its "players" think, they actually take the time to talk and mingle with them.. .. SL is the prototype for a future internet.. and we all get to be a part of that history and future.. and I for one can't wait to see what happens in the next 10 years.. *HUGS all of you* See you in world!

*clapclapclap* You should make a notecard dispenser for this. Or maybe more residents can compile a book, "Everything I needed to learn about life I learned from Second Life"... hahaha... Hope to see you inworld soon, Pen.

WTG Pen! I'll never forget my early days in SL when I stumbled upon your shop in Federal. At first, I went there looking for men's clothing to buy, but it was the gallery that kept me coming back.

Wow, a much better list than these types of posts usually contain, I'm impressed. I doubt my list would have been that long, I guess I'm a slow learner!

Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

From: someone ... including pub brawls Yes, I've noticed both of those things. Posting while drunk among many other things, can lead to pub brawls. ***/has another sip of rum and coke You found a really cool way to put into words many things that I have observed about SL Pendari. .

You have to admit...posing for one was much more fun though. *hugs Pen*

Congrats Pen and its good to see you're still alive and kicking, hope to catch up sometime in game and chat for awhile. You should join us at Anicia and Omaires sometime. It'd be justy like old times, only at their place hehe.

These are very sad times to be an American but where is the rage among the citizenry? Where are the flag wavers who so laud the freedoms symbolized by a flag and written by quill pens in our constitution? Why are we not rallying in the streets against this sort of attrocity? Why because we are gluttonous lazy bastards who say it won't happen to me so who cares. --Ishtar Pasteur

Yes, and it is nice to see such acceptance. I remember being a nooblet and seeing peoples avatars. I was like woah. I was so amazed by how people looked. I am one who appreciates the many different styles and creations of people. I have many different looks myself. I have been a wicked lookin goth, a red demoness, a super tan sun goddess...etc. It is fun to create different looks and I would never look down on anyone for how they look. I tend to get bored with my look and am always changing it. It is nice to have that availability. I haven't seen too many people rag on others for how they look, but it does happen...that is to be expected anywhere you go in life. It is awesome that there is a place like SL where people can be creative and have a different look than they do irl. I can be pretty shy irl and being on SL has brought me out of my shell a bit. It really is a great place with great people.

awww! What sweet responses! *pounces and hugs everyone* And yes, the tolerance and acceptance in SL has been something that has always made me truely love this place. Of course our world is going to have its "bad apples", but the fact that we even try to tolerate the untolerable says a lot about SLers in my book! hehe

So glad you decided to stay Pen! I'm still waiting for limericks to drip from your SL pen again!!! You are so right in your observations. I'll never forget your second floor showroom. I think it was the first porn shop i saw in SL!! I knew there was a reason why i had so many Pendari purses in my inventory. *chuckles*
