Quick question! On my account summary it says my account will be billed on June 23rd, but I have the lifetime. Is this just a general thing, something that was overlooked, or something I should be worried about?

June 23 is when they open so it sounds like they're going to until then to bill everyone. I know I haven't been billed yet for my life-time membership, anyway. And yeah, my account shows the next billing date to be the 23rd, too.

We wanted to give everyone who's been helping us build Second Life a couple of weeks to decide which option makes the most sense for them. We also want make sure that everyone has the opportunity to take advantage of the special rates.
No one will be billed until the 23rd. Until then your account choice goes into our system, and you can keep on playing as usual. After the 23rd, you become an official paid member for the term of your plan.

Just want to make sure I'm clear here -
What you're saying here is that on June 23rd, my credit card will start being billed without any sort of opt-in process? I specifically have to opt-out to not be charged?
...Also even though when I signed up, the page said specifically that the entering of a credit card number was for identity verification only, and that I wouldn't be charged?
...Again, just want to be sure I understand this correctly.
(edit)Reading back through, I may have misunderstood the reply earlier. However, it probably would be a good idea to make sure this is very clear, unless it's already been discussed in detail somewhere that I haven't seen yet.

Joe, I believe the June 23rd date is only relevant if you have chosen to opt-in by selecting a payment plan.
Signing up for beta will not cause you to be automatically billed.

To confirm...Bel is correct.
If you would like to stay in Second Life, you need to select a membership plan. The process for choosing a plan is detailed in Philip's mail posted this morning in the announcement forum.
Whatever plan you pick, your credit card will not be charged until the 23rd. If you don't select any plan, your beta account will be closed. In no case should a credit card be charged unless you specifically convert to paid status.
