Over the past few days I've been working on my place in SL. It started out as a little gallery to display my own work and work by my close friends, and is now gradually expanding into a gallery & lounge. The gallery is on the lower 2 floors, with the lounge / skyroom on the top floor.

I'm hoping to create a nice, relaxed environment that people might wanna get together in every once in a while to chat and possibly have the occasional event.

Anyways... Figured this would be a good opportunity to show off the place and to hopefully see the places that other people are working on. I've attached a screen shot.

It would be really cool if other people would post a screen shot of their place, and tell us a little bit about what you're trying to achieve with it, or even if you just think the place looks nice and wanted others to see it. (Include co-ordinates too so we can get there).

I agree. its a great place. I just cant keep away from those games you got in the front. lol. I stop by everyday/otherday and vote for ya, and you gotta have a darn good place for me to travel outta my way to vote.

Quick Questions Dee, what video card u got what rez u running and what fps u get avg?

Oh ya by the way, I saw u making that house. It is looking really nice! I just hope my video card can take it. LOL

I have:
- AMD Athlon 1.5ghz w/ 1gig RAM.
- GeForce 3 with 64mb RAM.
- 1024 x 768 with "Quincux" anti-aliasing turned on.

When the server isn't lagged, I get 12-17 fps in most areas.
In more built up areas (like Lindenburg) it drops to 7-10 fps.
(Just revised those numbers after checking in-game, thought I got faster, hehe... doesn't SEEM as low while I'm playing).


I scaled that image down to 800 x 600 just to make it a little more "web friendly".

PS. Jason, saw your Fifth Element taxi while flying around last night. Looking good so far, you just gotta get some textures on that thing and it'll be sweet.

Pretty soon (and when my stipend comes in, ha) I'm gonna start working on some other small projects. I'm digging the modern gallery/lounge that I'm putting together, but I need to get into some more futuristic, gritty stuff.

They're pretty simple but they can get quite addictive, especially when there's a couple of people playing. Good party games I think. I sorta got sidetracked building some other stuff, but I'd definitely like to put some more advanced games together. I'm gradually teaching myself how to script, so as I pick up the trickier stuff you'll see it get translated into more fun, interactive objects around my place.

The games are offline for the moment (until my stipend comes in). But they'll be back when I'm not too worried about going broke from the people who get on the crazy winning streaks.




It's a blast putting things together, I can't stop building!


I built a pretty cool little lava lamp the other night, hehe. It's a really simple script to move the textures, but it creates a nice effect.

I'd still love to see screenshots of things other people are working on.

It's hard to make it around the whole world looking out for cool projects and I know I'm missing out on some nice, secluded, hidden stuff! So let's see it!
