It must have worked. If you check the leader board he has gotten 10 people to sign up and use his name as a referal in the past week.

The more fascinating longterm—and conceivably more difficult to distinguish—thing is seeing how long those referred people will be in SL, and how active they'll be... and to a further extent, for that matter, what they're doing here.
The strong suit of the post is that it targets base things very simply. It doesn't attempt to use longwinded jargon, it just comes straight out and labels SL a GAME, which (as been said many times before) is not wholly accurate, but it is hooky—along with the promises of money, sex, more money, shooting, and other fun to be had in here.
