Strange glitch, mouse + arrow = shift??

When I play FPS games, I use the shift key to reload my weapons. I've noticed that for some reason recently, when I hold down the Mouse1 button and then hit any arrow key, my gun will reload! In other words, a combonation of arrow and mouse creates a shift-key click. It's happening on every FPS and changing my reload button helps but I'm so accustomed to the shift key I'd rather have this problem fixed.

Anyone ever heard of this problem or know of some way to debug it?

had it happen on a few games too, never understood why. My problem in SL is sometimes, not all the time but sometimes my shift key turns music and sounds on and off. Only the left shift key too, is there a point in the right shift key when trying to make simple capitilizations? I don't understand that one.

Neo after further investigation, we share the same problem, and i have a workaround but it's so weird that we have the same problem!!!

Yes, it is the left shift key that is tapped automatically. Also, you can hit the left mouse button, wait as LONG as you please, and then hit the arrow key, and it will still tap the left shift button. Even weirder is that I used a key logger to monitor this, and the left shift key is actually hit before the arrow key. Some messed up priorities here.

To fix it, turn off num-lock. It's a pain in the ass but it's a good fix.

Please post the make and model of your keyboard, mouse, motherboard, and OS. I think those 4 things may help us find a solution...

Number lock i tried it and that didn't solve it but i do get a funny thing pop up sometimes. ever see the sticky keys thing pop up? it comes up and u can edit sticky key settings. even if i do eventually the shift key problem reoccurs so not sure what the deal is.
