She's so judgmental though.

I wouldn't honestly vote her. But, the word play in this is humorous.

In an odd twist, Judge Judy's nomination has been strenuously opposed by a coalition of groups who feel that she's neither judgemental nor fictional enough, and are instead supporting Sylvester Stallone's character from the box office flop Judge Dredd.

I'm changing my endorsement, in light of the new candidate Judge Dread...
Instead, I'd like to nominate Garrett Morris:

Here comes the Judge! Here comes the Judge! (it's an old SNL bit)

What is so sad, is that I REMEMBER the skit!

Correction: Here Comes the Judge Was Laugh In, not SNL.

On a lighter note, I did a search on that phrase and found THIS. Kinda makes you think differently about that phrase. :D

It could have been worse....He could have had a court reporter hiding beneath his frock polishing his gavel. I nearly shot coffee out of my nose though. Thanks for the laugh.

I didn't remember the SNL bit, but I remembered years earlier Flip Wilson using that catchphrase. But looking around the net, it seems that it's even more antique than me, dating back to a vaudeville performer named Pigmeat Markham.

As for Judge Diddler... I always suspected some people get off on wielding power. I just didn't think it was literally true.

Ahhh...I remember that judge! He was the one using the Austin Powers Weenie pump in court...and his clerk kept hearing squeaking noises from under his robes! Classic!
Gives new neaming to "bang the gavel", huh?

Quartermaster Clerk: One Swedish-made penis enlarger.
Austin Powers: [to Vanessa] That's not mine.
Quartermaster Clerk: One credit card receipt for Swedish-made penis enlarger signed by Austin Powers.
Austin Powers: I'm telling ya baby, that's not mine.
Quartermaster Clerk: One warranty card for Swedish-made penis enlarger pump, filled out by Austin Powers.
Austin Powers: I don't even know what this is! This sort of thing ain't my bag, baby.
Quartermaster Clerk: One book, "Swedish-made Penis Enlargers And Me: This Sort of Thing Is My Bag Baby", by Austin Powers.

I'm sure Judge Judy is no-nonsense and all that...but why can't we get the original no-nonsense television judge onto the bench?

WAPNER FOR JUSTICE! MAKE IT THE SURPREME PEOPLE'S COURT!!!!

Wapner is a tad old, and I think we would get a few more years of amusement with Judge Judy. :D
