I just wanted to voice my opinion...
First off Land auctioning sucks with the current format that's being used. I bid 42.00 US dollars (crazy I know) on a 1008m plot tonight with 4 seconds left to go only to just be outbid by someone with a bid of 50.00 with 2 seconds left to go. Chump change in comparison to some of the bids I realize. But I would much rather have sealed bids because atleast people will actually be bidding on what they think the land is worth & not trying to outbid someone at the last second. Unless of course this is just clever way for LL to bring in a little more revenue...
Secondly I was also informed upon loggin in today that I had a plot in De Haro waiting for me to claim. Concerned there was some kind of mix up I inquired as to what the land was for. I was then told that the residents of Green will all be asked to move to De Haro becuase they have plans for Green to be a themed sim. I was a little shocked to say the least. I realize Green is a poorly utlized sim but it never occured to me it would be taken away just like that. I never heard or read a single thing to suggest this was even happening & I spent the time to modify a cabin so I could be within my prim limits for what?
Dissapointed, MJ Sunshine

the codas group owned a lot in green until:
group code disappeared forever,
haney mentioned the fact that the camp grounds may vanish (become other types of sims) in 1.2 and
it was announced that linden owned prims would NOT be redistributed.
this all happened very quickly. i don't remember the thread that mentioned the vanishing or exactly what was being discussed. but i've had the impression since before christmas that there would be no camping sims at all by spring.
maryjane did they provide you a lot in deharo, or just boot you out of green? did they give you the land money back so you could opt out of buying in deharo?

Well I certainly missed the thread talking about it... so my bad on that But yes I recieved a plot in De Haro that I can claim... I may be wrong but I believe I have to pay for it again & no I didnt recieve my initial investment into the land its a smaller plot so it really doesn't matter anyways. I hope I don't sound too harsh I love SL but having these two things combined in one night really disheartens me. I understand there will always be change in SL but I'd like things to be a little more "normal" again whatever that is exactly.

If you purchased the plot in Green before the switch to 1.2, you already got your money back once with the switch.

So much for the gift of land, eh? Not to mention the inconvenience factor... Yes we pre 1.2ers were given our normal land costs back, the land was a gift to us. The new plot should've been a gift, as well. My not so humble opinion

Making people move off their land is not something we do very often. We avoid it whenever possible. But the Green sim didn't attract enough residents to justify continuing it as it was, especially when De Haro is a similar theme and still has space. We will certainly pay residents for the land we are taking from them and offer them a lot in De Haro.
