Hi! I'm trying to make a t-shirt with a picture on it and I'm running into a little trouble. I'm not very skilled in Photoshop, so that could be part of the problem. Anyhow, using the templates available on the Second Life main page, I am able to position the picture I want in the necessary spot on the shirt. However, since the picture is 2d and my avatar is 3d, it looks like a jumbled mess when I put it on him. What are some strategies that people typically use to work around this problem?

Thanks in advance for any help!

make the image smaller and/or or put it on the shirts back is my advice.

In the shirts I've been making, I make my main image/logo around 100 x 100 pixels and put it on the chest, maybe 10-ish pixels down from the collar of the shirt itself. This works pretty well except when on my avatar, towards the bottom of the image it starts widening where the texture placement changes slightly.

So I'm gonna start experimenting with distorting my main image slightly, smoosh it in at the bottom a bit, so the image looks kinda like this:
CODE

___________
\ /
\ /
\_____/

...and hopefully it will even back out when it's on my avatar.

I'm using a pretty standard male chest size, so it should work quite well for most guys. Depending on how successful the smooshing goes, I'll also try it out on an average female avatar.

If it turns out really nice, I'll probably turn them into some kind of template, with some instructions for how to get the image the way it needs to be, and post it here on the forum. :D
