First, a bit of knowledge for those who may not know yet. You can find your lost stuff by flying around looking at teh little map window. Your stuff shows up as blue. I lost a glass rod (almost invisible even when you know where it is, but impossible to find somewhere-within-a-kilometer) and searched for an hour or so. Then george Busch told me how to find them. I wasn't even looking in the right direction! The blue dots helped me find it. In fact, it was right next to one I'd lost previously.

I think there may be a bug that puts "512" into one of the location fields if you type something it doesn't like. Then your object pops out of sight.

Second, there are actually many MANY items floating around in space over our heads. I can look right at them with mouselook, but I can't fly high enough to actually grab any of them, so I don't know how fols are able to clean up. We'll eventually end up with all sorts of space junk (just like RL) if we don't find a way to get rid of them.

Is there a trick I'm missing? I suspect they'll never go away. Even if they turn public, and many won't, you still have to actually delete them. Can the staff clean the upper stratosphere? Do we need to go up and shoot them with a push gun to get them to move? Or will that actually macke it worse?

I know that "regular" people would just ignore them. Unfortunately, I'm not normal. I'd like my sky prim-free.

:-)

create a box, sit on it and sky surf. Problem is most of the stuff Ive found isnt public. Anyone owning land ought to sit on a box and edge it up to clear the trash and *possibly* make a few bucks. Here's a hint though, delete the box you made before you jump off.

Have high taxes and dont know why? It just *may* be a prim (or more) you left at altitude.

Get a jetpack and fly up in mouselook mode.

I can fly up in mouselook mode, but They are always just above my head when I come out of mouselook. So, I can't reach them to delete them.

Can I? Is tehre a way to touch them while in mouselook?

Misnomer, I meant to delete the box. But when I got it up there, I was sitting on air. I couldn't select it. Maybe you could come over and giving me some air-surfing lessons :-)

Anytime Kathy! :) You can have a blast at altitude given you are amused easily. Catherine Omega and I killed a couple hours easy attempting daredevil stunts on platforms we found. She jumped and I photographed the carnage... hehe

If you have an attachment add this script to it:
CODE
default {
state_entry() {
llSetBuoyancy(1.0); } }
This will keep you from sinking back down. Change the 1.0 to 0.0 and save the script again when you are done before deleting it or you could have weight problems.

Thanks folks.

Ana, I'll try that script. I'm a bity discouraged though, since one of the objects is higher thatn I can fly - regardless of bouyancy.

Wouldn't one think that whatever goes up must eventually come down? If we are to be given a downward drift, should inanimate object have the same restrictions? Or, at least, have SOME restrictions?

Just thinking out loud.

Anyway, I look forward to many weightless surfing adventures in the sky-blue yonder.
