Various thoughts and questions..

Hi folks,

Rather than lots of threads, I thought I'd bunch all these up together in one - numbered for easy replies/comments..

1) Does anyone else think that the 1.1 Ripple Water effect ripples far too much and too high. Most coastal/waterside builds just flood now, so I had to turn it off rather than watch this.

2) Are textures truly safe now? If I sell an object with a custom texture, is it now safe to say that the texture cannot be ripped off in any way?

3) I desperately need more controls in my Inv.. it is getting way out of hand with all the stuff in there - and needs a big overhaul. Multiple selecting is sorely needed, and an easy texture browser with thumbnails would be so useful.

4) Moddable vehicles. I want to buy a vehicle, a bike or some other craft - but I want to be able to change its colours/textures (even sounds perhaps) as and when I want to. I have no interest in stealing scripts, or any other badness, but if a vehicle is going to last and be used I need to be able to colour/texture it myself whenever i want to. Does anyone allow this at all?

I would also like to share the vehicle with someone else, so that we can both use it. Is that possible?

5) Is it my imagination, or is LindenWorld getting quieter by the day?

6) The Secondlife site refuses to remember that I have logged in. I have to log in each time to the forums *and* also to Resident Life. One is annoying, but both? I click the necessary user options, but nope - I have to log in each time. If I am even a little slow getting a reply bashed in, when I submit it tells me I am no longer logged in too.. All very frustrating.

Any of the Linden made bikes are modifyable, in both scripts and changing color and textures. I also have a boat that i would be glad to give to you, that can be modifyable. Find me sometime in world.

Yep.

I think everyone does. If they don't, just ask the cretor/owner

Sure, you just need to mod the standard script a bit.

Hmm, the forum thing never happens to me.

LindenWorld is in a lull while the new set of builders work on their attractions. The new dwell competition period begins Monday November 17.

I've found the ripple effect to be a bit crazy at times, it looks great in some places, but then in others you see dry land with bits of water peeking out every now and then.

Thumbnails would be great for inventory stuff, looking forward to 1.2.

The loging in thing may depend on what browser you're using, sometimes cookies don't like to work with Mozilla for me so I sometimes end up having to use IE (like i am now). I'd trying to make sure you have the "remember me" or "use cookies blah blah blah" options checked, the forum user pannel is a bit hard to find, I clicked on my name, then at the bottom it has an edit this account or something link, click that, then it'll tell yah you can't do that, but it'll give you a drop down box where you can select User Pannel or something and then the cookies is somewhere in those options. Wow I'm mr.detail aren't I? heh. Probly a better way to do this.
