Something is happening to the bonus'. This week my bonus was a full THIRD LESS than the prior weeks. That is a big variation.

Is this planned? Is it because of all the new residents? I would like to be able to plan and have control over my finances but it is extremely difficult under these circumstances, not knowing what I will or will not receive.

Anyone else?

I agree with you Misnomer, it keeps going down and down. They added a new sim yesterday(?) and I didn't notice an increase.

Just like the real world....they take it away pretty darn fast, but AWFUL slow giving it back!!

It's next to Perry, unfortunitly I don't remember the name of the new sim...starts with a "K" I think. I do know it's really high.

I thought the money pool was supposed to go up and the residents increased.

And the new sim is kissling??? Dont bother looking for land - the claimable area was all snatched up in a few brief moments.

Which is good and bad. Good if you are in the right spot at the right time and can afford to buy all the land, or bad if you are not around and you only wanted a little piece for your new home.

There should be some sort of liimit on the amount of land you can purchase on new sim. Seems a bit unfair. And some announcement from the Lindens. Or would that be like the after christmass madhouse at Macy's experience?

There is some land still owned by the govenor. Maybe it will be released....?

Money pool is supposed to go up when new sims are added, not new people. Although more people is supposed to mean more sims.

Yes all the land was bought by a select few (less than half a dozen).

Since this moved to the topic of land too I want to wonder out loud about the "themed communities" sims. There has been a lot of cool stuff going on out there. Some projects have also stagnated. So, lets talk about all that available land... can some be made available ? When? Whats up?

I'm on one of those Stagnated Themes. Unfortunately I haven't been able to log in in about 1 week now (technical problems). As soon as I can get back in I will continue. I underestand how you all must feel though.

fen,

charlie, xavier, and i bought up all the land on kissling, hoping to create a community. not strictly a "themed" community, but one where community members are free to set up shop and/or build their homes. i am only one of the Counsel (the group heading this community), but over the next week or so we will be discussing what we want our community to look like. when we have more concrete plans, you can expect to see maps and signs, and soon enough, infrastructure. if you have any questions or would like to participate in the community, feel free to contact us in-game.

I've noticed a drastic decrease in my stipend too, so i'll look forward to the explanation, cause when it comes to money matters, i'm a bit of a ditz hehe :)

Aurelie,

I'm not a ditz and the economy makes no sense to me so don't feel bad (if you had).

It's really easy! I don't know what you guys are talking about.

As long as you take into account the number of players in the world, the total area of land in world, your zodiac sign, how many other people share that sign, how many others in SL share it, the ratio of it to everyone else, and to everyone else in SL, along with the difference between the current zodiac and the in game zodiac it all makes sense. Oh yeah, don't forget to account for how many bits the server is sending out, including extra interest for those that have to go up hill (this is in San Fran remember).

See? Make sense now?

If I would have only known it was THAT simple! All this time I thought my stipend was going down because of the amount of land I own, only to find out it's because I'm a Taurus....

Your oversimplified explanation does not take into account gravitational fluctuations due to passing celestial objects nor does it observe the tree count vs. light count in adjacent communites divided by universal constants.

and you, tcoz, forgot this part of the formula:

c = cloud density across all sims
w = wind direction (in radians)
v = wind velocity (in current sim)
s = sun direction
e = elevation of land at point of voting booth

(c * w) / (e + (s * v))²

i admit i don't know where in the overall formula this part fits in, but i remember it very clearly...

Actually proper calculations based on current zodiac/contelations will generate the necessary gravitational fluctuations due to passing celestial objects. As for the tree count vs light count , yeah I forgot that. I thought it was already obvious. :)

omg i did forget the peanut butter factor... and you also have to take into account how many bagels are in a 2 mile radius of any SL server... :p

Oh man you had to bring up the bagels. There are a lot in SF which means another thing. Coffee. I didnt want to bring this up because it makes the calculations far more complicated than they need to be. But then without breakfast you have no fuel for the day and no fuel means you'll NEVER figure it out.

And you can't forget the coffee vs. soda ratio in the Lindan Lab, and how much of either Haney spills on the keyboards lol :-)

i think most of you guys get the account history function, but i've posted an elaborated explanation under Announcements. Also, will be available in the Knowledge Base.

BTW, some of these posts are hilarious...
