Since I've seen a few people around SL that don't speak English natively, I was wondering if there would be enough people willing to arrange and set up classes or tutorials in different languages.

I think that would be really cool! I dont speak any foreign languages well enough, but, I know there are users that speak Spanish, German, French, Japanese, etc. Could be fun! I would also like to see classes to actually LEARN these languages!

That'd be cool, but one caveat: to do it properly, the Lindens would have to have support for extended ASCII so we can have the special characters like the cedillos in Spanish, etc.
Also, those characters wouldn't translate well to the current notecards that we have, which would otherwise be excellent for class sheets.

I think we'd need UNICODE rather than extended ASCII. Even 128-255 don't support a lot of European languages, like Polish. Anything outside Europe isn't going to work at all!

Re: Would there be any demand for classes taught in foreign languages?

I have seen Schwartz assisting several residents with specialized assistance in Spanish. I was impressed with his diligence, too, as one of the individuals was obviously very hard to educate on the subject of building. I myself came across some German speakers, and when I engaged them in conversation they were pointedly rude - and I know my German ain't that bad. We have here, though, that I know of, residents who are fluent in French, German, Spanish, Swedish, Portuguese, Finnish, Russian and most likely five or six others I haven't run into. it would be great if we could get together on this.
