I posted this in hotline to Linden, and bug reported it (HAH!) and was wondering it others are dealing with the Ruth problem again.

Today I was standing on land I had purchased when suddenly I locked up due to packet loss, and as I came out of it my avatar turned into Ruth. My prims detached (hair, hug etc.) Now I am Ruth. What is with this bug where we turn into Ruth after teleport and now for no reason whatsoever, not teleporting but just standing in one spot, my avatar became Ruth.

For those who dont know, Ruth is one of the Linden default avatars that are in the library when you start. When you teleport and become that ugly little female before you turn into your own avatar...that is Ruth. When a guy teleports and is an ugly little female with breasts before he turns into a male avatar again, that is Ruth.

Now, I am Ruth. ARGHHHHHHH!!! For almost 2 years I have tried to avoid being Ruth. Can you imagine just standing there and you turn into Ruth!?

My shape is misshapened. Why couldnt i have turned into a pretty avatar...why did it have to be Ruth!? HELP! Get rid of Ruth!

P.S. Even my base hair texture turned to her hair !!!!!!!

Is that what that's from? I had that happen to me many times...but i wasn't teleporting. I fly over a certain property and then poof I got breastseses. I thought this was some gag somebody was doing. Hate that because I gotta log out and back in again.

I make a real ugly female.

I had this happen to me last weekend again.

What I found is that there is a way to salvage your av if you catch it right after it happens!

Open up inventory and swap out each individual body item with another. If it's the same bug I experienced, at each one you'll get a dialog asking if you want to save changes to the item. It's as if you'd opened up the Appearance window.

Hit: DON'T SAVE.

Then when you put that body part back on, it should have reverted to your own av.

actually a lot faster way of fixing this issue is going into appearance then closing it and when asked to save changes choose no...instead of having to go through all individualt things this is a lot faster
