Here's my interpretation of Matrix: Revolutions. Tell me what ya guys think.

I think the whole trilogy is about faith, destiny and choice, and that you need to have faith in your destiny to make the right choices. Also, along with symbols from other religions, Neo is the Messiah (duh), and Agent Smith is the devil.

A few winks from the second and third movie I found interesting: Morpheous leading Neo down to the Merovingion (sp?) and Persephonie (the Greek tale of Morpheous), and Neo going to the robot world to speak to the robots (Jesus rising to heaven to speak to God).

Anywho, just wanted to say that. Not much point to it, I know...

Oh wow, now you've ruined it for me and I can't go see it!.

Just kidding :)

Actually, based on other reviews I may just skip it. It doesn't bother me when people say things like: "you have to have a good understanding of various mythologies and a solid background in comparitive religeons to really get this trillogy."

What bothers me is when people with those qualifications come away from the third movie complaining that nothing got resolved. If they weren't really going to say something serious in the end, rather than leaving everything wide open as they apparently did, then they could have at LEAST just told a good story about the bad guys vs the good guys and have an old fashioned walking into the sunset hand in hand ending.

Or in this case, walking off into the sulfur dioxide haze with blisters and scabs forming on your skin hand in hand ending.

Basically, I don't need two wizzkids from Hollywood telling me that life is complex and we may never have a good understanding of why we are here and what our ultimate destiny might be. We all already know that and have either adopted a faith in the meaninglessness of life (existentialism) or a faith in some higher power (various religeons).

Hollywood can still do great things when they stick to what they know (entertainment). I get stressed to think that they insist on also becoming historians (Columbus slept with Isabel, the Pope was a Nazi, Nancy had a hot temper) and unfortunately many of their fantasies will outlive true historical accounts of things.

If Hollywood is now going to move into the realm of philosophy and be taken seriously as such, they are going to have to do a much better job of it than this.

Maybe they need to crawl for a while before they walk. Keep the philosopy to simple concepts that can be stated in a phrase and don't need a 3-part series and $21 to convey.

My favorite: Being There. "Being in the right place at the right time makes more difference than anything else about where you will end up."

to understand the matrix you need a little sunday school education and to have made it to year 10 at school. It's so. blindingly. obvious.

The first and even second film had some interesting questions raised... most of which were ignored by the third film with the sudden messianic theme which was contrary to the themes in the first two films. What's more, none of those questions you went away with in yer head from the first two films are answered.

The films are fun.. but not amazing as a whole unfortunately. Go see Donnie Darko for your real mind bender! :D

That's true. They never answered why Neo could control entities or machines in the real world, they never answered the question of who or what the Architect really is, and what about that damned sunset?

Trilogy my glass! They better be wrappin that stuff up, because there really WEREN'T any revolutions in this movie. Most questions were still left un-answered.

I can see the first one being all about that Darwin. Love is a big theme too. Everything else after the first one was all getting it done as fast as possible and making lots of money.

Well, the Oracle did say it was because Neo was connected to The Source. What does this mean? Perhaps it means that Neo has a certain amount of "backdoor access" to the machine world. Note that there's no indication that he can control machines built in Zion, or ordinary matter like rocks, etc. Perhaps, by some application of willpower, he can establish (via WiFi :)) a connection to the machine world that allows him to disable Sentinels and the like.

ok disclaimer...i hate The Matrix and i haven't seen any but the first one but doesn't Neo controlling stuff in the real world mean that the "real world" is still in the Matrix and they just think it's the real world? otherwise it's dumb. :)

My opinion: The point of The Matrix is to make you think like this. The writers want you to think about it and use your brain to fill in the holes like this. I do think they focused on the action more in the last two over thinking, but they still included interesting thoughts about The Matrix.

heheh nah..movies don't have to spell everything out but if they leave huge holes i have to fill in for them then the writers are being lazy. :)

No, Lieutenant, your men are already dead...

Wake up, Neo...

One of these lives has a future...

You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rebbit hole goes...

Splish-splash-gurgle... Welcome to the real world...

I know kung fu! Show me...

I'm not the one...? Sorry, kid, you got the gift, but you're waiting for something...

They've cut the hard line! Tank, find us another exit, fast!

Morpheus!

Believe or not, you're going to hell...<crackle>

I can't stand it any longer. It's the smell...

Budda - budda - budda - kaboom! - smash!

Where we go next, is up to you...

Yes definitely see it. It's about fate, wormholes, time travel, madness, and great 80's music. Rent it! For a good double feature watch Donnie Darko and Magnolia

Ewww 80's music, besides that, I'll check that movie out, I like thinking movies, or atleast weird ones, Memento was good. Anyway...

The Architect(sp) is a program, created to build other programs, how do I know this? Well it has to be, machines would never let a human create The Matrix, and everything in the Matrix is a program anyway, The Oracle is "the mother" of the matrix and she is a program, so whala.

How Neo controlls machines, well, my theory is, he just does, its part of being "the one" it is said the one will have the power to controll the machines and bring their downfall, he's connected to them all, through Wi-Fi? Sure, lol.

The sunset was created by that little girl, all programs need a purpose, wether thats hers or not, *shrug* but it was just a child expressing her emotion for a friend, the same as a normal child would draw a picture, she just drew one on the sky cuse she can.

I thought the matrix was good, it wasn't extremely mind bending, but it makes you think more than most hollywood movies, compared to other movies I think it was great, and don't let bad reviews discourage you from seeing something, see it and make your own opinion, the 2nd matrix is out on video/dvd already, renting it costs like what 5-10 bucks?

I feel the same way about 80's music in general, but the music in donnie darko is superb. There's a mellow remake of tears for fears "mad world" that I could listen to on repeat for about ten hours straight.
