I had some minor work done on my RL Avie yesterday, and was lying on the couch in a Vicodin haze, watching TV. MacGyver came on, and I was too lazy to change the channel.

The program airing was "Black Rhino" (episode # 5.8) 13 November 1989, which featured a young Cuba Gooding Jr. in his recurring role as "Billy Colton".

Anyway, at the end, MacGyver comes out of character to explain, "In 1989, there are less than 4000 Black Rhinos left in the world. If we don't make an effort to save them, they will be extinct by the year 2000".

I paniced. I had no idea there were Black Rhino's, much less they were in trouble, and I was five years too late to do anything about it!

A quick internet search this morning, when I'm feeling less groggy, tells me that there are now 11,000 Black Rhino's in the wild. Whew!

Thanks, MacGyver!
