Okay, so you want to go somewhere, while wearing your massive multiprim
attachments. Of course, you know if you teleport you'll get to like
"Saving attachment 5 of 18" and then get the dreaded timeout message.
There are a few solutions that work for me, so I'll post them;
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
>>>>> Getting yourself a ROAM for travel on the main continents <<<<<
1. Get a ROAM from WetIkon. They work beautifully, as long as you are not
teleporting on to or off a private island sim. When you type in your
coords, IE '/roam Leda', it calibrates for about 5 seconds, and then
shoots you into the air to about 1000m in about 3 seconds. After that,
you are propelled one sim at a time (at a rate of about a sim every 3-4
seconds) to your destination, and then whooshed down to land comfortably
at your final destination. Each zone crossing validates that the sim you
are in is loading fine and it will abort with no problems if somehow it
cannot complete your transit. I've used a ROAM with every one of my bird
avvies (including the 360-prim mechabird) and have never had ghosting
with it. ROAM is available from WetIkon, just ask anyone that has one,
as they are Public Domain and copies can be freely given. You can use it
for 3 days free, and then can decide if you think it is worth paying the
'subscription fee' for, which is a few L$ over a period. Frankly, it's
been a VERY nice investment for me.

>>>>> Porting to a private island, or you don't want to get a ROAM: <<<<<
2. Make yourself a plain human avvie, and change into taht avvie before
you teleport. Now, if you had a lot of attachments on before hand and
find that teleports don't work after you change avvies, here's a way to
tell when you can.
- If you change outfits and then teleports refuse to happen immediately,
cross a sim border. Usually, in the minimap, the new zone you're in will
not be highlighted and your avvie will start bouncing on the ground. Go
to fly mode, wait for your avvie to go still in the air, and let it drop.
Sure, you may bounce there for a minute or so.... but eventually it
should stop as the system catches up with your change.
- Now teleport to your destination. There's a chance when you appear that
some of your attachments you thought you'd taken off will reappear on you
at your destination. No matter.
- Drag your original avvie back on, continue to your destination.
- Changing from a plain human avvie doesn't cause the minute of zone lag
that changing TO one did. So at least you /shouldn't/ have to wait twice.

PS: I have a ROAM and I'd be happy to give you a copy to try out if you IM me.
