Having problems on how to use the AO

I was trying to use a Animation Overrider (which i used as a earring stud) last nite and either failed or got half a animation going (torso part was posed but not the pelvis or legs) for a new standing animation.

Somehow i kept thinking it could be the type of shoes i was wearing which was made by KDC instead of Exotica brand. The Exotica stillettos seems to accept the AO as some people have shown me, but the KDC stilletos (which i prefer) doesn't react the same way.
Do all shoes react the same way, or it is specific shoes i need to buy and wear to use the AO?

It could be something i forgot to type in as well, since some of the notecards dont explain the instructions clearly.

Hi Sylfie. :D

Some shoes have animation overrides of their own, some shoes do not. Typically if your shoes have an animation override of their own, they will conflict with another worn animation override. Sometimes they don't, but look at it this way: The shoe is telling your av "Pose this way," and the animation overrider is telling your av "Pose another way," depending on the priority level defined when the animation in question is uploaded, they may "fight" with each other, or one may be "stronger" (have a higher priority) than the other. In either case, you will probably not get the effects that you desire.

For me, personally, since I want my overrides on at all times, no matter what shoes I wear, I went with the Wet Ikon overrider. If I'm barefoot, I still don't walk like I have a pole up my behind. (Sorry, LL, but that walk animation... *shivers*)

With the Wet Ikon overrider, you can leave it attached, but temporarily disable it. I believe the command by default is /ao off - this way if you have a pair of shoes that have overrides, you can choose to use them instead of the other AO.

Hope that makes some sense. If I have made a mess of the explanation, feel free to IM me in world and I'll see if I can clarify. :)

Actually, if you have any questions at all you can feel free to IM me anytime that I'm on. More than happy to help in any way that I can.

You can always take the animation overide script out of your shoes.

But i'll check it in the game when i get on tonite. While the shoes cost like 450 Lindens, i didn't check it as i didn't think anyone would put a program in them =/

The KDC shoes (the pumps and boots, anyway) have their own built-in walk replacer, which is just a scaled down animation overrider (AO). They aren't really compatible with the Wet Ikon AO for the reasons Nikki stated above. The animations built into the KDC shoes are also designed specifically for those shoes.

I'd just remove the Wet Ikon AO if you're going to wear the KDC shoes.

Oh, then should i contact the designer to ask if they can put in other poses if the animation is specifically for that shoe style?
