Important Announcement Regarding Developer Incentive Awards
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is an important change being made to the Developer Incentive program, beginning with July’s award (given out in August). As the award has grown from 20 winners to 80 winners a month, the process has gotten ever more complex, in an effort to streamline, we will no longer issue checks to Developer Incentive Award winners starting with next month’s award. Instead we will credit your award directly to your Second Life account.

And the clarification post reads:

just a clarification:
beginning next month we will not be able to convert developer incentive awards to Linden $'s. Developer incentives are meant to be a way that we share revenue with residents and that revenue is meant to be shared in US$ only. Our apologies for any confusion in this matter.

Does this mean that in the future, developer awards will *only* be a credit to your account? No form of monetary funds in any other way? I'm just trying to clarify because I think I may be confused. Any thoughts?
EDIT TO ADD: Original posts found here: /3/d8/53539/1.html

This doesn't really affect me (who knows it could one day though), but mainly I just like to understand policies and such. I also can't personally see how this could "hurt" any of the people who get developer awards, but then there could be something I don't see. *shrug*
Either from admitting a value between US$ and L$ or, if the uptake on that option was high, the prospect of having one and a half million plus Lindens suddenly "created" and added to the money pool!
