I'm thinking of renting. I want a place to put all the stuff I want to buy, and it'll be quite some time, and a LOT of practice before I'd live in something I built. My problem is I've been in SL for less than a week, so I don't really know anyone yet, so I can't go by word of mouth. Flying around hoping to stumble across something gets old quick, so it seemed the best thing was to come here and ask you all at once!! If any landlords reading this have an apartment for rent that a total newb can afford, please leave me a word so we can talk. Thanks all.

Go to rose. The Roseridge apartments are there. It's a nice place, spacious, and the cost is pretty reasonable. I'm leaving there because i'm renting a room elsewhere, but it's not because of the apartment itself. I think it would be a good place.

We have several new people that bought land in Clementina and just started "experimenting." It's fun for the established residents to watch them get better and better and it gives us someone new to annoy. (just kidding about that part.)
Anyway, maybe you should also consider buying a small piece of land somewhere and "calling" it home as you practice. You'll find that the minute you put down your very first block, people will start dropping by to watch, chat, help, and give you stuff.
It seems to always work that way.

Eventually I do want to build my own place. First though, I want to get somewhat skilled at guilding. Also, there's so much stuff other people made that I weant to buy I already ran out of money buying clothes. I may give it a shot in a month or two, for now, I'm just a consumer. LOL

Well, you cant practice building if you dont have anywhere to do it. The apartments are snice for storing things but dont try building in there, your alt zooms will go through the walls and you wont be able to see what your doing.

Olive is always a good place to experiment with building, physics, scripting and the like. You arent taxed there, and everything there is deleted at 5 AM PST every day. Wide open space too... I wouldnt suggest living there though...

--Water Water, you rock! So do the apartments which are more like townhomes. I believe there are a few still vacant! IM me IW if you're interested.
