I would like to post an appology to those who were affected by billboards which were put up in various areas. I have been talking to some people who were nice and kind enough to explain to me why they weren't a good idea.
As a new person to SL on a venture, I am thinking I need to get some advertising done for SimKast to spread the word. As I am travelling around SL I see billboards, and then when talking to someone it was suggested that I go ahead and put some up. Since I had been seeing this I figured it would be a fabulous idea and solve a lot of the "foot work" I would have to do on an advertising aspect. I don't know where it all went wrong, but it did.
The billboards have been removed from all areas but the sim our house is in.
For those who were affected by the billboards, I am sorry. It was never my intention to harm anyone nor cause anyone any sort of grief. It was an innocent, if nieve, action on my part.

Hey Kandi, =) As someone else who has a business in SL that I want to advertise as much as possible, I have researched a lot of options and have found some great advertising ideas that I have been able to take advantage of. I'm writing up a notecard to help others who are searching for ideas that will work well within SL and not infringe on those who don't like to see billboards and other garish or "intrusive" advertising techniques. Feel free to IM me in game and I'll give you a list of ideas that can help you!

Thanks for the apology, Kandie. I released land in Mauve yesterday after billboards popped up on either side. I'm sorry I didn't approach you to discuss it first. Anyway, I just ran back into SL on seeing your post, the billboards are gone, and I reclaimed the land. Thank you, Kandie, and good luck with your venture!

One thing that all business owners in sl can take note is that if you have something that is truely cool ---something better --something unique ----people will find you out. Sl although big ---has a very lively and vibrant grapeline. Word gets around.
And further I ignore all billboards in the game and guess others do as well. What gets my attention is when someone tells me --"hey check this place out ..or take a look at that etc" and when I see something cool ..I pass that on in a similar way.

Pendari, if you have some great ideas on advertising and tips for new businesspeople, please, do an event! I would certainly attend. It would also be helpful to new folks who don't have the first clue about selling stuff in SL.

Fallingwater - I'm sorry you had to release your land and I'm glad you were able to gain it back. And NP on the E thing, I've been called worse *winks* I'm sure more so these past few days then in a while *LOL* Pendari - I will certainly get in touch with you and hear what you have to say as far as SL Marketing goes Thanks so much for the invite!
