Negative Ratings

Someone has it posted on their profile that I neg rated them and is obviously trying to get others to neg rate me in return. I IMed the person and told them that I have NOT neg rated them, that the only person I have neg rated is EZ Money, but they won't change their profile. So. I am wondering if I should just go ahead and make them happy by neg rating them or should I report them for abusive behaviour? Or should I just go ahead and ignore it? That seems to be the best drama-free course to take.

Well, ignoring them would certainly be the mature thing to do... But personally, I'd neg rate them.

my best suggestion/s is/are:

1) do not neg rate, this would only justify their own ends

2) consider telling a Linden, but remember this would be more akin to 'tattling'.

3) mention your non-negging in your own profile, without naming the other party.

4) laugh. laugh like a hyena on nitrous oxide.

Funny thing is that David you have only given out 3 negs and that was to me for not doing your nails quick enough..actually if you look at Davids Info, he has only given out 1 neg in one catagory and I really DO know who it was and they are not around that much anymore..So they are being lame David.. They will get caught and as they say, Eventually every dog will have its' day.

I have a similar situation where I did neg rate someone, and with ample cause. Apparantly they were subsequently neg rated, and every time they are, they increase the number of rates in their profile in a statement that says "The 4, 5, 4 neg rates are from Candie Apple and her 4 alts". It then goes on to hysterically proclaim a reason for me supposedly doing this, although I told the person exactly why I was neg rating them.

I reported it as abuse, because the TOS states that anything illegal in r/l is not allowed. And libel is illegal.

Much to my surprise (and confusion), Linden told me yesterday, that we can put anything at all in our profiles -- lies included -- and name names -- "so long as it doesn't violate TOS".

My pointing out that the TOS states anything illegal in r/l is not allowed, and that libel is not allowed, was met with a response that "well yeah but libel is ok so long as you don't put the person is a pedophile or something".

Very confusing. Suppose the person is a pedophile? Stating a true fact is not libel, so I'm not sure why that would be against TOS.

Anyway, sorry about your problems, David. Tell ya what. Let's both put some libelous crap about each other in our profiles

LOL! I HOPE they aren't around, 'cause it was EZ MONEY! I gave him a neg rate for appearance for his nice Ku Klux Klan costume. I have never neg rated anyone with an alt account, either. I am going to ask Char or one of the other Lindens to look into it and just tell this person that it wasn't me and hopefully they will end the drama festival and remove my name from their profile.

Thanks. I actually feel better knowing that other people are going through this nonsense. It may be ok for them to do this to me but it is nonetheless abusive behaviour. Just don't call me a paederast! Hahaha...
