Don't know about anyone else, but I got an email stating that GOM has stopped dealing with Second Life. Is staying open long enough for everyone to cash out.

Peace,
Joseph

If you look through the forums, you will find many references to GOM's closing as of today. The machines were probably removed because they were mainly for linking avatars to web accounts and that won't be necessary anymore.

The most successful software company in the world does a piss-poor job on all these points. Particularly the first three. Why do you expect Linden Labs to do any better?
Yes, it's true, I have a blog now!

All I know is my final PayPal withdraw is taking forever, and I submitted it long before the deadline.

You and everyone else. :(

I feel bad about withdrawals taking so long, but to put it in perspective on a normal day we would receive anywhere between 30 and 45 withdrawal requests. In the 12 hours after we announced our intent to close trading, we received close to 600. Since then, that number has increased to nearly 900. I'm working to get payments out as quickly as possible.

And, yes, I know mass pay would have made it much quicker so no need to post that.

I imagine the final days are hectic, Ricky. I used all the USD in my account to buy Lindens, so my withdraw is piddly, but I know it will eventually come. Sorry to you guys closing -- I still think you could've given LL a run for their money.
