Bullshit Does any one here watch Penn & Teller’s Bullshit on Showtime? If so what do you think of it? Aptly named (and not because of the subjects they try to debunk). |

Aptly named (and not because of the subjects they try to debunk). What episodes have you watched? What did you ever question on that show? _____________________

I love it. I'd say I agree with them about 90% of the time, and when I don't they at least succeed in making me reevaluate my positions. I especially enjoyed the episodes on intelligent design and the bible.

What episodes have you watched? What did you ever question on that show? The Earth Day show may as well have been a press release for the Heritage Foundation. The sheer volume of misinformation in that one episode defies cataloguing. Some segments, like the bottled water piece, were informative, amusing and accurate. But in the end, Penn Gillette's obnoxious personality and endless bashing of any viewpoint divergent from his own, plus the fact that the show lines up the most airheaded commentators for the opposition, just wore me out. I felt like I was watching Cops, only with less warmth and goodwill. Pass, thanks. |

I agree with Chip: I enjoy it, and most of the time agree with them. In the instances where I do not agree, I have at least been required to think about why I don't.

I agree but take the Environmental Hysteria (Earth Day, as you call it) show, they got the Nina Fascione (Vice President, Defenders of Wildlife) & Julia Butterfly Hill (Tree Sitter; Author; Founder, Circle of Life Foundation) and yes they are airheads. They also got Patrick Moore (Ecologist; Founder and Former President, Greenpeace) I by no means would call him a Airhead. And he BACKED what Penn was saying. About Penn being a little Obnoxious to some, I find it refreshing some one saying how they feel. I don’t agree on every thing they say. That does not change the fact that there show is about as accrete as you can get and still have fun with it. _____________________

I especially enjoyed the episodes on intelligent design and the bible. I agree with them most of the time. I have seen most of here shows and find some shows that I disagree with that I still agree with them. Take Ghostbusters (Season 3) I disagree with them on the ghost being real. I agree 90% of your Ghostbusters are just want to be scientist that don’t have a clue about real science. Or Talking to the Dead (Season 1) I agree with the people making money are really conartest but I have had exsperances that would be Talking to the Dead. Fact is the people making money are just out for your money. They should be pointed out and made fun of. In the case of Talking to the Dead they are making money on your pain and suffering with little real emotional help, some do help you with your grief but most do not. Most of the time they put out the facts out there in black and white. I am a Environmentalist. Yet I agree with them on the Environmental Hysteria (Season 1). I also agree with them on Endangered Species (Season 3) and there numbers make you think. Well done show. I think the only show better is Myth Busters. Problem is they don’t do some of the stuff that Penn and Teller do. Oh and the bible show was my favorite. “Oh sorry I was still back on the killing of the first born” funny and so true!! What one is intelligent design?? Here is a list of all there shows to date + next weeks. http://www.sho.com/site/ptbs/topics.do _____________________
