Just a topic for discussion...

Do the Welcome Areas really need to be No-Script? I don't think it really serves it's original purpose, and it detracts from the full experience of Second Life (i.e. showing off scripted objects like furry eyes, gadgets, etc), which we really should be showing off at the Welcome Areas where newbies arrive. I understand it's to stop griefing, but it really doesn't do that. Griefing is not stopped by enabling No-Script. All it does is to limit what people can do and harm correct behaviors, and griefing will always find away around simple limits like that.

What about No-Script and No-Build at telehubs? There seems to be no purpose in disabling scripts there, and setting no-build serves no purpose that autoreturn couldn't serve.

Discuss! :D

I understand that making the Welcome Area a no-script zone does not eliminate griefing. However, in the last week I have seen several attempts by griefers to use "Hand of Satan" in the Welcome Area. Luckily, since the WA is a no-script area, we all weren't bounced out of the sim. Its inconvenient, but keeping the Welcome Area no-script is necessary.

Not all telehubs are no-scipt. Though I think *not sure* the welcome areas are no-script/build to keep down greifing, and lag. While the main WA in Ahern is usally very busy and subject to greifing.
