Newbie question about PG Land

I'm not sure where else to ask this in the forums.

I accidently bought first land in a PG area (not realizing how to tell whether it was PG or mature) and I've been told by another avatar that if I change clothes there and my avatar is naked, I will be "booted."

How restrictive are PG areas? I wanted to experiment with creating things and building. I also have a lot of free items that I haven't looked at. What if I pull out a tatoo or piece of clothing that has profanity on it? What if I pull out an "alcoholic" drink?

Is there a way to reverse the purchase? I bought it yesterday about 5:00 pm game time. If I manage to sell it, can I get first land again because I am then landless?

On an unrelated topic - what is the difference between the library folder and the inventory folder? They seem to have similar items.

Skye - I did a similar thing when I first bought land. I think what that person told you was a little harsh. As long as you aren't waving your dolly parton's in your neighbor's face, you should be fine. There's no thought police - someone would have to report you, and you'd probably get warned - not instantly booted or banned. Living in a PG sim is great - I'm often the only one around.

Everyone's library folder is the same I believe. The inventory folder contains your own items that you'll acquire. Moving forward - remember that folders are your friends. Inventories get out of hand very quickly. :P

Yes I also have PG land.....I change clothes...I will say tho I DO go INSIDE my house :) and have even typed 'shit' in-world. I have some friends who own PG land and while there, they DO request that others' language and such be PG appropriate, and I have to respect that, it's their land after all. As Moxie said someone has to report U for there to be an issue and unless U are wearing a 10ft Phallus and dancing on the roof of UR home, I don't see U having any problems.

Thanks for the info!

Now I can't find my "home" and I think maybe I never bought it. But I put a virtual cow on it...Isn't there an automatic link to your homestead? I keep ending up at the Morris visitor place.

You have to set your home point to where you... well, want to have your home. That can be done from the "World" menu.

If you want to find out where all the land you own is, "My Land..." under World will let you know, and you can click on the listing to teleport there.

I would like the issue of PG vs M land explained also. It is my understanding that you can do whatever you want on PG land you own as long as the hanky panky is kept inside and nobody reports you. If some do gooder turns you in for having too much fun indoors then you can, in turn, report them for spying and invasion of privacy. A peeper is worse than two people having a little fun any day.

Am I all wrong or what?

Use the World option from the menu bar at the top of the screen; select the My Land option, it will list your land coordinates, parcel title, area etc. and enable you to see where it is on the map and has a teleport option.

Once you get to your land you can use World, Set Home To Here to make your home location be on your newly purchased land.

The rating status, M or PG, for each sim is always visible in the middle of the menu bar to the right of the sim name, enclosed in parentheses.

You can have a drink (alcoholic) in a PG sim. In fact, I'm live on a vineyard in a PG sim, and we even leave bottles of our vintage out for people to sample.

You just have to watch what you do on the lawn after a few glasses of the pinot....

Basically, the "PG"/Mature divide is a bit misleading. In essence, PG prohibits excessive sex or violence. The Lindens, in general, use some judgement here - someone changing clothes in their own house ain't the same as having a fully-equipped sex-poseball dungeon.
