OK...
So last night, someone I know reported that all her trees and bushes had been deleted from her land, and that earlier in the night she'd had a disagreement with a certain person.
Then just now my other friend reported that parts of his building had been deleted.
What I wanna try and find out is, is the sim crapping out somehow and removing random things? Or is some a-hole getting his/her kicks by flying around looking for stuff that might not be locked down and just deleting it "for fun"?
Are there any logs that would show which user might have deleted certain objects?
I really hope this doesn't turn into a big issue in SL.

We had an issue at the 4 corners arena where we posed similar questions and were told that if its on your land, unless the person had permissions other persons couldnt delete prims.

Yeah our bridges magically vanished in the Hawthorne/Shipley area. I also know Phay lost some pillars and Sassy had issues with vanishing doors.

I was convinced once that my entire church was gone, but someone else there could see it. I logged out and back in and I could see the church too. Was a one time fluke for me.

Thieves and disrupters. 90% of all my landscaping was gone which included all bushes, ferns, trees and every flower and rock garden. Wonder if they thought they could get L$ for it? Fortunantely all the money from their deletes reflected back in my account but it took a few hours to rebuild it all. Being a beginner, I did not lock out each and every item which I paid no attention to, until now. One of the good Linden guys showed me how. I did lose some stuff out of my inventory cause I forgot to leave a copy in there. I can't for the world of me remember but isn't there a key to hit when you take something out of the inventory that will only take a copy and leave the original? Maybe somebody can let me know how to do that, again. I agree with everyone that that is really rude, to say the least, but, another challenge to overcome, I'm going to have my camera ready the next time!! Still love this game and all the good players in it, regardless of the incident! Peter Thank you Misnomer, just got your reply.

I'm happy to hear about other people having some issues. Well, y'know, I'm not happy that it's going on, but it's reassuring to know that the things I've experienced aren't isolated cases. I'm noticing a lot of mischief seems to be in The Outlands sims (Hawthorne, Federal, Shipley & Stanford). Ok so we live in the outlands where "anything goes", or so they say, but deleting peoples' stuff is just wrong. I dunno about anyone else but I'm seeing a definite possibility (and I have a strong interest in being a part of this myself) of a team of vigilante outlands security guards or police officers of some kind, patrolling the area, investigating claims of wrong-doing, and whooping the asses of those people who need their asses whooped! Tree & object stealers/deleters beware... Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?!

We Outlands residents need to join forces and rise up against the wretched scum and villainy that plagues our community!

Well said Deeblue, with us having a neighborhood watch and a cannon next to my rock garden, we'll get em!! Seriously, a good idea! Peter

i am starting to like dee's idea too. i was once a pacifist who didn't want to own any guns but now i am starting to see that is the only way to keep unwanted people away... shielding or force field ideas are just too easy to bypass... we should try to pool our money and buy some defense turrets (with a hitlist) around the neighborhood... and we can have some kind of senate type of thing where people can petition someone to be added to the list.

Peter =)
"Neighborhood Watch" was the phrase I was looking for earlier, but for some strange reason could not think of.
But yes.. I think it's a good idea.
